I am applying for a job that requires a résumé. This is the first time I ever turn in one though so I don't know how they must be submitted. I made a cover page to go along the résume and the Job Application. Do I put all these papers in a folder/envelope or do I just turn in the papers by themselves? Please Help

I am a teacher and I respect my elders, but when a principal decides on a curriculum that I opposed and then blames me for the bad results, what am I to do? The English Department voted "NO" on the new English books, because they weren't any good. The principal overruled our decision and gave the new program a "YES". He did this because the new books had many other benefits, like free headphones and magazines and cassettes. Now the parents start complaining and he wants us to apologize. When we started speaking, he went all over our heads and made us look bad. When in the first place it was his bad decision! What does one do now?

I mean it's really none of their business, so why do they want reasons for times of unemployment?

Suppose a person hasn't worked for 5 or 10 years just because he didn't want to. What's the big deal?

I am stuck in a job that I hate. When I went for the interview it sounded good but over the last few months I am doing work that is nothing like detailed on my job description. I have applied for so many jobs over the last few months and no-body is responding to me! I have also registered with some job agencies who are no help at all. I am at my wits end - can you suggest anything, I don't know what else to do. I am looking for administration work and I am qualified for this type of work. I never thought it would prove so difficult to find a job in this area.

Our former employee abandoned his job 3 months ago. We attempted to contact him via phone and mail several times. We estimated that he worked 26 hours his last week and mailed a paycheck to his last known address. The check has not been cashed. He is now claiming (through voice mails) that he never received the other check, and his actual hours worked were 35.5. He also still has in his posession some of our company's tools and equipment. He claims that he does not have a phone, so we cannot contact him. What should we do?

I am a Marketing Professional who strives to be the best I can be. But for quite some time I have found myself losing focus because of the poor office habits of one employee. This employee is absent from work 8 weeks of the year (2 allowed) and when they are here they are coming in 1-2 hours late, taking 2 hour lunches and going home early every day—coming and going without notification. A typical day of this person consists of chatting with other employees and talking on the phone with friends. The habits of this individual make it difficult to work in a team-based environment. Not only does this affect the moral of the team, it affects productivity. This behavior is very discouraging for those of us working 60 hours a week with very heavy schedules. Everyone in the office makes jokes but it isn't a laughing matter. I wrote a letter to our HR executive 6 months ago and nothing has changed. Did I mention this person is a Manager?
