I tried employment searching on my own and it's been 5 months, and i have nothing. So I now am going to sign up for a temp agency...I've done temp agencies before and they have jobs..but most are temps..And i actually want to have a stable job already, i've done too much temping. Do you think that temping is alright, and that it eventually lead me to a temp to hire job?

A lot of staffing companies have jobs that are temp to permanent hire. They have a 3 month contract, and at the end of the contract they can either hire you, or let you go. Depending on what kind of work you do, check with Office Team or Accountemps - both are owned by Robert Half, so they are reputable companies. I was in your shoes just a few months ago, so I know how you feel. Just hang in there, and it will all work out. Good luck!

Any job is better than no job.

A company may only want a temp to stand in for another worker who's on vacation, so the job may just be a real temp job. On the other hand, companies are always looking for good workers, so if you do a good job as a temp, they may ask for you again when a temp job is over, or sometimes they may decide you're such a good worker that they'll hire you (even though they didn't plan on doing that).

The best thing is--go to work. Do a good job wherever you are. If you impress the places you work, they may hire you.

It's good to keep working--it looks good on your resume that you kept yourself busy and kept your skills sharp. Do the best you can, sometimes things come up in a company unexpectedly (especially in this day and age) and you luck out.
Keep your regular job search going too. A temp job is a nice flexible way to keep working and searching at the same time. The professionals say it is generally 6 months to a year to find a job. So don't give up yet! Keep at it!
Good luck!

Hard to say if it will lead to a temp to hire position but it is always feasible. The advantages of continuing to temp is that it will provide you with an income while you continue your job search, it may end up leading to a permanent position and you can gain additional job skills that may help you to find a permanent positiion.

I've been in your shoes. It can be frustrating, but hang in there.

You should keep in mind that you get experience from temp jobs, which employers see as a positive thing on a resume. Have you tried posting a resume on Monster.com? You should, it works really well, and you will open yourself up to lots of permanent jobs by using that resource.

In my organization most people start of as temporary staff then their terms get changed as time goes on. By the time someone has being in the company for 5 years, the should have gotten the three year contract and become permanent. I do believe then in some organization it is does lead to employment and the terms. To me it would be a worthy try

yes you can because sooner or later that temp job will become a permanent one because your employer will see that you are determined to get that job that you really want and that you have what it takes to get that job done and done right the first time.

Temporary jobs do not have the full benefits (ie. retirement, pensions, etc.) compared to the permanent one. Continue to search and apply till you get the permanent job. Good luck.
