Since the few men who do earn more than the women make the margin greater. Beside majority of the men are in reputable jobs as opposed to women. Until recently women were discriminate upon when it came to benefits and the sort of work they are capable of doing in an organization

If 1/4 of women earn more than their partners, then 3/4 of women earn lower than their partners, meaning that 3/4 of men earn higher than their women, thus confirming the statement that men earn the most money.

Well I have no idea where you get your information and I have never heard the 1in 4 bit.
I can only assume that the largest earnings those who earn the most in this country is dominated by men. There may be many femails earning more than their partners but it does not put them in the highest earnings league

kinda answered your own question there, if it was 1 in 2 women earn more then it would be 50/50, or 1 in 4 women are lesbian

The 1 out of the 4 replace the water on the water cooler and do some dirty work as well and oh yeah ...
They don't take 3 months off for maternity and come back to a promotion.
