I am a college student looking for an additional income. I was wondering how much bartenders get a night on average and what is reasonable to expect?

I went on a job interview with a company that i thought was laget but now i am second guessing my self because of the setting and location of the interview. Then they wanted me to pay for my background check, credit check and the classes that I would be taking up front before i even knew for sure that i had the job. So i did the stupid thing and wrote a posted dated check for $199. i am not sure if i have been scamed but i nned to know before the date on the check....any advice

I have unofficially been offered a job. The pay is TWICE what I made at my last job and the guy that would be my boss is the kind of guy that would be understanding of sick kids...he really takes good care of the people that work for him too.

The BAD news is that it is about an hour and a half or more away from home. my husband says NO!!!! I think I really want this job regardless. This job would nearly double our household income. I feel that I may never get a job offer like this ever again if I dont take it. (It's one of those situations where it's more of WHO I know than WHAT I know, ya know?)

THE HUSBAND does not want me to take it due to the long drive.

What would you do...and if you wanted the job, what would you say to plead your case?

We live in Pa so it's not as if we have lots of agents around. I haven't really done much checking yet. My daughter is beautiful & loves having her picture taken. She's only 19 months, however every place we go people stop us to look at her & they always ask if she does any baby modeling or if we plan on having her model when she's older. I just wondered how to even go about getting her into something like that, if anyone knows please write me back. Thanks.

I am thinking about applying for a job at Wal-Mart for sticking/warehouse as a second part time job. I know the work sucks, the company sucks, etc but how much would you expect to get paid in around the Littleton/Highlands Ranch area?

I applied to a position at a naval museum some time ago but the position I wanted was taken. However, a new, but different position opened up that I find myself qualified for so I sent in my resume.

Is it possible to re-apply with a company for a different position? Just curious.

P.S. I passed the initial interview the first time around but the new supervisor didn't ask me in (and they know me since I had called them on a weekly basis to let them know my interest in the position).

I am almost 60 years old and I was fired from my job in June in a power struggle with upper management and don't have the financial resources to retire at the present time. Looking for part-time employment or a part-time business opportunity with limited or no investment required that will earn me an income of at least $50K for 7 years until I can retire.I've been a very sucessful Gerneral Manager in quite a few different fields. I started in retail chain store management which had direct mail and mail-order marketing, ran a wooden flush door manufacturing company which was marketed through outside sales reps, and ran a company that sold and rented constructuion systems (scaffolding, shoring & forming). I live in S. Florida in Fort Lauderdale. I've had extensive sucessful P&L responsibilities for years with emphasis on distribution. I'm organized, detail oriented, a planner, and the ability to put together a group of people who work well together accomplishing preset goals.
