It really depends on the bar...I would seriously try to work a high volume club or bar. I mean you could work some hole in the wall bar and make 100 bucks a night if ur lucky...or you could work a club and make a ton. My friend lives in san antonio at a club downtown and she makes about 5-600 a night...thurs fri sat of course but still ..not bad

It all depends on where you are located--state, business type, is it a tourist area or not, to name a few pointers.
In general, bartenders can make any where from $3 to $15 an hour, depending on the pointers indicated above. However, most bartenders, floor workers in a restaurant, etc, get their income from TIPS rather than a set salary.
For example a bartender might have a $4 salary per hour and receive $200 in tips a week, that means his total salary would be $160 for his/her regular salary + $200 in tips = $360 a week.
Naturaly, do not expect miracles. That is one of the positions that requires a lot of sacrifice, especially for a student.
Good luck.

You don't necessarily have to go to bartending school, but it can help you break into the business. It'll also make you comfortable with pours and mixed drinks. Average wage for a bartender is somewhere around five bucks an hour, and how much you get in tips depends on where you're bartending. If you're at a restaurant at the lunch shift, you won't make very much. A bar or a club on Friday night? You'll make a killing. It helps if you can be very friendly, even flirty, while moving fast and keeping a lot straight in your head.

If you're in a high-volume bar, you'll do great... watch out for those places that don't have much traffic. You can expect to make at least $10 an hour in most cases... but the real money is in those places where you're making drinks one after the other... you could easily earn a hundred or more an hour!

Try some restaurants. I think they make somewhere between 5-6 an hour plus their tips. I am not sure though. But, you can check around and see. Good Luck!
