Ticks me off.

He'll say blah blah blah.

I'm silent, thinking.

Then he asks me why I don't agree.

Pisses me off.

I am looking for a job that offers flex-time or the ability to work at home, who has a great insurance group policy (that doesn't require a 2 year waiting period to cover pregnancy), who offers daycare on site, or pays the employees day care. I am in near Overland Park, KS.

No work-from-home scams, please...you might be reported ;p

Thanks!

ask to talk to the manager, tell them my qualifications and then tell them I'm looking for a job? What do you think my chances would be of them actually considering me for something and not thinking I'm just someone who "has a lot of nerve" or knows nothing about proper resume/application procedure? (I'm not talking some retail position or anything, I'm talking more higher up positions.)

*considering this because the "formal" and "traditional" application method hasn't done much in regards to getting me a decent job

I am currently working as a Senior Systems Programmer/Analyst for a major fortune 200 financial services institution in the U.S. My father-in law works in Dubai so my wife, my 8 month old son and I are going over for Christmas to visit him. He is trying to get me set up with some interviews during our 2 week stay. I’m very interest in Dubai but would first like to know what kind of salaries are offered to IT Professionals/Architects on both the high end and the low end. I also would like to know what kind of IT industry exists in Dubai. I just want to make sure this is something that I would seriously consider if the offer is right. Anyhow, I'm 26 years old, I graduated from a University in the U.S. and am an experienced J2EE develeoper with strong background emphasis on Systems integration. Any info or feedback would be very appreciated. Thanks ahead of time…. .

The man replied yes james,so i transfered the call to James. After a minute or so James called me into his office and began to raise his voice at me to the point of loudly yelling at me and he said that the man didnt want to speak to him he wanted to speak to the manager of the service dept...the man told me he wished to talk to james and i done what i thought i was supposed to do ( i transfered the call to james). When he began yelling at me he was very rude (my manager),he didnt have to yell at me like that.So i ended up quiting my job because my daddy dont even yell at me like that. Was i wronge for quiting my job and not tolorate being yelled at like that??

I was asked by a potential employer to send my references via email. Do I write a letter? Or do I just shoot a "Here are my references, thank you for the call"? I have never been asked to email references, I've always just attached them to my resume and given them at the interview. I am new to the email reference ettiquete.

Does the FLSA protect salaried exempt employees from being overworked at all? I was just curious because I just finished a required 17 hour work day after a more than full work week.....plus a few of my coworkers are on about 70 for the week. Just wondering if the FLSA protects us exempt workers at all.

Thanks!

The question as old as time. I was offered a position in NYC that starts on Monday. I am currently in NC at the moment. If I take the job I will not be giving my current employer any notice. The best I could do is slip a letter of resignation under his office door. He left too early today before I decided to accept the new position. What do you think I should do? I already have the job and a place to stay up there so thats not a factor. Its just a matter of accepting it and giving my boss a zero day notice that I'm leaving is what I'm pondering over.
