I am a legal assistant who has 20 years experience and am relied upon to handle a myriad of responsibilities, follow up and even write pleadings. The most challenging is keeping the business base happy and growing by knowing how to listen and respond in a meaningful way.. which by the way helps the lawyers from having to have the contact with the public. I just found out that the recent hiree is making almost as much as I am and was given health benefits.. which were not offered to me and I am a divorced mother. To make matters worse, the other employee has an attitude about pulling her weight and is indignant when anyone asks her to do something. My boss is unapproachable. Time to move on or let it roll off my back?

hi. i had an interview with a bank/mortgage broker today and more than half of me has a good feeling but then again, who knows right? id appreciate your opinion.. did i get the job? and please explain why. thanks in advance!

ok. i suited up, shook hands, and there were two out of three recruiters sitting with me. she asked what my goals were, my expectations within the company, my thoughts about the company, how long i expected to work (years), what i wanted to achieve within the company, base salary i expected, my first priority when a client walks in the door, what i taught others (others under me), if i was willing to travel, work saturdays when needed, and lots more. she told me what hours i would be working (if hired), approx pay i would be starting with, my main tasks, told me alot about the company and its goals, the benefits i would recieve, how long it would take for the benefits to play, etc.
she said she will call me on monday (after she consults with the main recruiter)

I just read the featured question about what life would be like if there was no poverty and education for all, and when someone answered "Then who would work at McDonald's or do our nails" I was very offended. Those jobs are respected because at least, from what we can assume since they work, they have pride in their work.

I asked about terrible bosses; now I want to hear the other side! Why, you ask? I have had experiences with both extremes, great and terrible, and I am a supervisor trying to help my employee get what he wants out of life.

I am having a hard time finding a good job. Right now, I am looking 4 work in the Administrative field. It seems like I can't find a job & no one calls me back. I do everything that they say you r suppose 2 do. I have 2 yrs college and about 4 -5 yrs experience in contract jobs as an Administrative Assistant. I had an interview at a lawyers office, pharmacy, poultry office, furniture store...etc., & it goes on & on. I dress professional, act professional, am very friendly during the interview and smile alot, I don't giggle or act stupid, I don't fidget or act nervous, I practice with my bf days before an interview 4 answering questions, I ask good questions during the interview & I even have been told by the interviewers that they are very impressed with my resume. I am honest about my experience & education & have excellent references from previous employers. I send thank you letters after each interview, I'm not too pushy but I do show that I am interested. What am I doing wrong?

I went to an interview at Hollister Co. (a retail store in the mall) earlier this week. They called today and said that orientation is on Sunday. All they told me is that I'll be filling out paperwork and things like that...

So does that mean that I got the job? Am I hired?

My boss first off got this job through his wife since his wife is head of human resources. Anyway my boss is always gone, you can never get a straight answer from him. And i have the type of job where everything has to go through the director of the dept which is my boss. You ask him to do something that's urgent he does it 2 days later. I believe the problem is that is he maybe 2 young for this job. He is younger than me and i am 24 years old. He was supposed to be fired but his wife blocked that from happening so they sent him to the location where i work at because our old director had suddenly died at the age of 36. They said the old director was one of the best directors they have ever had because he truly cared about his co workers. I got all this information from a relative who use to work with my now boss. She said he is so aloof, irresponsible, and immature that she almost quit. He sends important email to us but certain people never recieve them. I have told him over and over
