My boss first off got this job through his wife since his wife is head of human resources. Anyway my boss is always gone, you can never get a straight answer from him. And i have the type of job where everything has to go through the director of the dept which is my boss. You ask him to do something that's urgent he does it 2 days later. I believe the problem is that is he maybe 2 young for this job. He is younger than me and i am 24 years old. He was supposed to be fired but his wife blocked that from happening so they sent him to the location where i work at because our old director had suddenly died at the age of 36. They said the old director was one of the best directors they have ever had because he truly cared about his co workers. I got all this information from a relative who use to work with my now boss. She said he is so aloof, irresponsible, and immature that she almost quit. He sends important email to us but certain people never recieve them. I have told him over and over

It sounds really frustrating, but there's probably nothing you can do about him. Start sending your resume out and maybe you will get a better job. It's easier to find a good job when you're already employed. Good luck!

The real world answer: Before you quit or go over your boss' head like others have suggested, I would encourage you to sit down with your boss and voice your concerns. It sounds like you have valid complaints but keep in mind that you are not privy to all of the issues your boss has to deal with during the day and you should give him an opportunity to explain why he has not handled your requests in a more expedient manner. You may find that he is receptive to your concerns, make the necessary changes and respect you for being proactive and bringing your concerns to his attention. Also, keep in mind that It's possible that your boss's boss is happy with his performance and views your issues of lesser priority. If you do choose to go over his head be prepared not to move up in the organization anytime soon. No one in the company will tell you this but no one wants someone working directly under them that has a reputation of circumventing the chain of command.

I'm not sure what you mean by "you..told him over and over". I thought you said he was your boss....Did you "ask" him?

From what you said to us, it seems you are taking your situation too seriously. Things change. If you don't own the company then it's really your business only to mind your own business and not get so involved. To me it sounds like if you keep this up you yourself might get the boot.

If the guy looks like he's going to stay, then maybe you need to find yourelf another job rather than to be so wrapped up in this. Sorry that the boss you liked passed, but that's the way things go sometime. So if you don't like the situation it's time to move.

I thought it humorous that you were calculating things and making determinations. I didn't see where it was your place to do that. Good luck.

You have to choice to change your boss.
Get fire the one that you have or Get another job.
If you are serious about the first one look for a good motive and go over his wife if you can not do that.
Why you don't look in another place.

Look for a new job or if it a big company see if you can transfer to another dept. Dont tell human resources why just tell them you want new challenges or to broaden your horizons.
