i had a job interview 3 weeks ago and they still havent called me back. i sent a thank you letter a couple days after my interview and i called today to ask about the positon and the manager said they were still doing interviews and she would give me a call.
do you think its just BS?
i justs seems that 3 weeks of interviews is a long time.

the positon is for medical assistant.

My guess is that they may have had a number of candidates to interview and it took a while to schedule them all. You might be in the running but the other alternative is that you didn't wow them and they decided to keep looking. It really depends on the type of job and organization. One of the questions you can ask when you interview is what the selection process is and when they plan to fill the position. You can usually ask this of the HR person rather than the hiring manager. Don't forget that your in a field that is already saturated with many people who can all do the same work as you do.

That is the reality of today's marketplace.

My suggestion here would be to decide what it is about being a medical assistant that you do that stands out among the rest and sell /market yourself accordingly.

Remember, companies like people who can solve their problems for them. If you are like this, you can easily solve any number of situations based on your intelligence only. They love that.

Phone them up at the end of 3 weeks and speak once again to the person who is doing the hiring. Mention your name and then tell them what you can do for them in terms of solving everyday issues for them. They like independent thinkers , very much!

Hmmm either they dont want to tell you that you didnt get the job or they really are still doing interviews.

well maybe they only do interviews one a month or they are replacing someone who hasnt left yet
