I don't have a co-signer available, so that isn't an option, and I have $1000-$1500 to put as a down payment, versus no downpayment at all. I am a student, but also work around 30hrs/wk and get paid $10/hr, so I have steady income and a decent job. I went to a dealership and found an awesome deal, a 2001 Taurus with only 25,000 miles (I drive to/from school 30 miles each way daily) and they were asking $7900, but the guy I was talking to said that they needed more proof on my income and they are having a hard time financing me. I have charge offs (now repaid) on my credit report and late payments, but have made all my payments on time in the last three months. I applied with Bar None and another (Autoloans.com or something) and was denied from Autoloans. Is there any other place that I will be able to go to get financed for car??

I've made preliminary inquiries to get life insurance for a 78 year-old female, however, I get the standard response of "no" because of her age and the fact that she has been hospitalized in the last year and has pre-existing conditions (COPD, high blood pressure, arhythmia). My sense, however, is that there may be life insurance companies out there with more accomodating terms for senior citizens. If you know of any such companies, or are experienced enough in life insurance to give a definitive "no- it's not possible" response, please let me know. What are our alternatives, if any?

I had an account at a bank that was closed 4 months ago. I emailed the bank a QUESTION about their checking accounts. There was no application and no account relationship, since I ceased being a customer 4 months ago. As a result of that question by email, they pulled my credit AGAIN through ChexSystems. Is this in impermissible inquiry and if yes, what are my options? Can I sue them for $1000 for violating the FCRA?

To those that say I can sue, how to go about this? Do I need a lawyer or can I do myself? Please provide a link for my options

handling all you're finances and deposits for a very small feed store buisness in a small town... I'm her bank teller, and customer, and friend.
I offered to handle these things for her a couple hours a day as she was overwhelmed. She's Very Excited about it, what salary should I propose when she asks?

I really want to get my feet wet in the field of real estate development and community development. I am thinking of bidding on some houses that have been foreclosed on. These bids start around $1,000-$2,000. I am still in college, and I don't have a good-paying job, but I have saved some money up. Is this a good idea? What else can I do to get in the field of real estate?

Or is it a guideline? Or does it only apply to subsidized housing, or apartment complexes? If a family of four stays in one hotel room or efficiency, besides being cramped, is it illegal?

Recently, supposedly because I have an excellent credit rating, my credit card company issued me a Platinum Mastercard at 7.75% interest that gives back 1% of all purchases annually. Of course, it also has no annual fee.

How do they make money doing that? I had my standard credit card with the same company for the last 15 years, and recent history indicates that I always pay off my entire balance. Given that, it's as though *they* are paying *me* for the privilege of me using their card.

I'm not complaining! I just want to know if anyone can tell me the credit card company's financial rationale for paying me to use their card.
