What if we say im the only source of income and lie, then she still gets a job.. will we get caught? what are the consequences.. how do we get around something like this??

You are applying for an income restricted property. Lying on the application is a criminal offense as these properties are partially publicly funded. Find a different place!

The post above is correct. You are going to a subsidized income community. If you two move in with only your income, you are risking alot. Not only is this illegal, you could face criminal charges or get eviction. Not something you want on your credit!! Plus if your roommate decides to leave, only your name would be on the lease, so you would be responsible for the cost of the apartment. If you couldn't afford it on your own, you could face eviction for that too, and end up having to pay it all off. Don't risk it!! Go to another place, and if the cost is what is keeping you down, then try a private landlord. You may be able to get a house to rent for the same cost or less because you aren't paying for all the amenities in the apartment community. I hope this helps, and be careful!!

This question makes NO sense. Why would any landlord turn you away if you make TO MUCH money.
