Our manager told us that we can't claim overtime fees because "its an employee responsibility". Is this true?

I bought a car this tuesday, yesterday 11/13/07. I had no money down and my trade a 2003 Audi A4. They gave me a trade of $10500 for it and after everything was said and done the total price was $27581.85. I bought the car traded in the old audi car to the dealership, went through finance and signed all the paper work, took delivery on the car, and I had my 3rd party bank wire transfer the car company the full $27581.85. So now I make payments direct to my bank. The problem I am having here is I get a call today and after re reviewing my trade the 2003 audi a4 they only want to give me $7000 for it. That would actually bring the whole thing up to $30000+ making my payments go up. My question is this even legal since the deal was already made I took delivery, signed all the papers and my bank even paid the dealership? I love the car but they are saying this deal may end up falling through can they even legally do that since the dealership is paid off already through my bank?

We have a new HR Manager in the office. I am usually helping the HR department for Candidate's assessment. Recently she came down to greet me and discussed minor changes to the way of interview and meanwhile sent me an email on the same with CC to the boss.

Should i reply to this email where she is writing, "nice to meet with you this morning and i would like to suggest minor changes etc... and thanks for your cooperation, and what should i write in this email?

Please advise.

Do lenders and credit companies consider owning a mobile home as owning your own home if it's not on a plot of land you own? Would that be considered renting instead of owning if you live in a trailer park? Thank you.

My question is, if I would like to get out in the middle of this probationary period, should I still have to tell my boss, at least a month before I leave them? My contract is silent on this, but I know if you are a regular employee, you must at least inform your company a month before you resign. What if your still in the probationary period?

I'm looking at my apartment lease, because I'm curious as to what would happen to me in the event of an eviction. I just want to know if I have to pay them, even after I'm evicted, and how much.

"In the event Landlord shall elect to so terminate this lease, then landlord may recover from tenant all minimum annual rental which is required to be paid by this lease for the entire term less the amount of such rental loss tenant proves could have been reasonably avoided by landlord together with any other amount necessary to compensate landlord for all the detriment proximately caused by tenant's failure to perform its obligations under this lease or which in the ordinary course of things would be likely to result therefrom and together with such other amounts in addition to or in lieu of the foregoing as may be permitted from time to time by applicable law."

What I mean is can they actually go into detail with your accounts, etc.? OR do they only see you "credit rating" or "score"?? Someone with experience as an employer or manager, please help me out with this one. I am going to have a credit check done on me for a job, and my credit if considered "fair" because I don't have a long credit history, but I need a little info.

My wife and I are renting a house and found out our landlord is deliquent on the mortgage + property taxes and currently has a couple liens against the house. He hinted he'll be losing the house at the end of the year. My wife and I are thinking about buying the house, but should we wait and try and talk to his bank to negotiate a better deal? He's currently asking market price to cover all his debts but it will not sell due to the real estate climate in the area. If we wait until the foreclosure happens, will we be evicted? Is there a chance the bank will want to work with us?

My fiance' works offshore on an oil platform, usually if he cannot make thepayment over the phone, he will call and I will do it. However, he has been out for over two months, and just returned last week. He got a notice from the auto loan lenders yesterday requesting he contact them to set up a payment plan to get caught up. Today the repo man came and took the car. We live in Florida, loan was taken out in Alabama. He is usually only onshore for three weeks at a time, and no previous letters were sent, I would have gotten them. I had no idea he was behind so much. Any ideas on what to do? Will paying the balance due get the car back? We can get the money owed within a week or ten days.. He collects all his pay from work when he comes onshore... so that should be fairly easy to do. Since they sent a letter offering to set up payments, why send the repo man the next day? Any thoughts?

I went to H&R Block last year to get my taxes done and they told me I could not deduct the taxes or interest paid on my home because it was under $10,000 but I was told later that this was untrue. Who is right? If I should have been able to deduct my interest and taxes last year can I deduct them this year?

My friend is considering a mortgage service with United First Financial. It would set up an advanced line of credit that his hourse payment would be automatically paid from each month. He would also deposit his pay checks into it and pay his bills from it. Supposedly by doing this he will save thousands in interest over the life of his mortgage. Have you ever heard of anything like this and is it a wise move?

You can find more details about this service here.

For four years, I lived in and paid rent for a condo in L.A. and I have the original basic lease agreement with the landlords signature. Although I abided by the lease, I never signed it since she never asked that I sign and return it to her. After two years, she sent me a signed rental application (not a lease agreement ??) which reflected a $200 per month rent increase. I guess this was to serve as the updated lease and, although I never signed it, I paid the increased rent. After giving her 30 days notice, I moved out last month and now she's concocted the most OUTRAGEOUS, UNETHICAL & UNLAWFUL excuses to avoid refunding my $5,000 security deposit!! She hasn't even been able to provide me with receipts or an itemized list because she charged me for completely bogus expenses. This is probably going to small claims court and I'm asking if presenting the unsigned lease would help my case or if it's insignificant. Being disrespected and taken advantage of is intolerable to me. THANKS!
