I get about 8-10 calls a day from an unlisted number. When I pick up, nobody is there and then the call ends. I tried calling my phone company to see if I could do anything about it, but I they couldn't do anything. Any suggestions.

I am a phone persons worst nightmare!!!!! I have a whistle and blow it really hard and long into the phone!!!!! Another thing that I do is just start banging the phone on a hard area like a counter top and just give them a taste of their own medicine. I have also been known to call them a few choice words if you get my drift.
Then again - just put the phone down when they call and when they realize that you are not reacting, they (hopefully) will leave you alone.
Hope this helps. They things ( the so called callers) are so annoying!!!!!!!!!!

look in front of your phone book, read thru the pages
there should be a number that you push to have the
call traced to the police department. Before I found
that I used to answer Police Department - Non Emergency
How can I help you and the calls stopped.
Now I just have Call Block thru my phone company
which callers have to unblock their numbers to call.

Look on your caller ID and if it's unlisted, just don't pick up the phone, or pick it up for a second and then hang up.

Call the police. Report telephone harassment. They will require the phone company to monitor your line and determine the source of the incoming calls.

you can either block them (if its a cell phone)
or you can put yourself on a do not call list....you can call the company and tell them to stop calling you...my friend also says theres a site where you can put your number, so no salespeople call you. its: www.donotcall.gov
