So what if they issue a lien. They aren't taking anything away from you. All a lien means is that they have a claim equal to the amount of the lien when you sell the item they are placing a lien on. But, they are probably lying about it anyway. They cannot put a lien on something just because they want to. There has to be a financing agreement in place that gives them the right to do so.

Ask family or friends for a loan, sell something, get a part time job, do some evening and weekend babysitting for cash, see if you can pay less than $500 and still avoid the lein (after all it is the holiday season and no one needs a Grinch at the collections office)

try to set up a payment plan
see if you can get help from family or friends
you can have a garage sale, but im sure it won't net you 500
although every little bit helps
get a part time job, say babysitting
i would try everything before getting a payday loan...it'll end up getting you deeper in debt.
Also a lien just means you owe them, as long as they aren't repossessing anything you still have time to pay.

sell furniture on craigslist - it's free. I know it seems extreme, but if you really need it, that's where to get a decent amount of cash. You can try part time jobs and what not, but you only have 2 weeks til the end of the month.
Also, maybe have a garage sale. You won't get as much, though.

sounds like friends or relatives are not an option right? Maybe there are some things you can hock? Payday loans are one option, but it is a very vicious cycle, come payday you have to pay it, plus your regular bills, (this is assuming your gainfully employed). There aren't alot of options i am afraid, that i can see.If employed, maybe you could get an advance of part of your pay? If it is housing or utility bill, try St vincent De Paul. Hope this helps some.

Craigslist works great. But if you were hoping this venue was going to be a way to solicit money its been done before... Try Government Services.. your bank.. your church or if you don't belong to one any mission church or community church are always willing to help non-members. That's what we always have to do.
