my husband and i are thinking of buying some land near la libertad (roca sunzal). we have a partner who lives there and is salvadorian. we would have a lawyer draw up the partnership contract and build some bungalows to rent to travelers. any advice or resources for information would be much appreciated.

No and No and No. A lawyer's signature in El Salvador is about as meaningful and binding as Big Foot's. A US lawyer has no authority.

It's isn't safe for anyone to buy property in El Salvador is not the most stable country in the world.

I'd skip El Salvador. I have a good friend who is from El Salvador and HE says HE wouldn't do that.
