he issues a job, 1-2 weeks later, while the toolmaker and i are immersed in the job, he comes along and desides we need to be managed, but all he does is screw things up! he hasnt a clue, is this typical? middle management does nothing to help? upper management shoves their responsibilities down to the lowest level? paperwork bogs down all? why do the highest paid ppl do the least and the lowest do it all!???

I work at a retail store that sells premium denim, and top quality name brands that are always in. I am 17 years old, and just recently, Alberta has bumped it's minimum wage from $7.00 to $8.00. A month and a half ago, $20 000.00 worth of items were stolen/missing within a 6 month period. My boss had discussed our "raises" with the President and Founder, and he had refused to give us a raise. I am making 7.25$ and hour, when i should be making $8.00. I don't want to quit, because it's a fantastic job and I save hundreds with my 50% off discount. Can anyone give me some suggestions onto what I should do? Considering that i'm just an employee,..

one day she asked if i was okay bc she said i seemed unhappy with the work. than today she asked if me whether i could do the work bc she said she wanted me to work faster. she asked if there was a problem and if so she can replace me that very day. it's not a problem. then she said "off the record why r u here, u have a college degree. I saying this like a big sister, I WANT TO SHAKE U. u should be doing this job. fix urself up, do ur hair and network. im a college grad, 1 yr out of college. haven't really worked with my major. my plan was to work temp and look for permanent at the same time. well i worked at this office for 2 and half weeks. the first week she wasn't there. when she came back, she didn't have anything for me to do and would ask her collegues to give me work to do. I took my time completing assignments because she had nothing for me to do. Anyway I want to quit and use the time to find myself a full time job and im outraged that she felt that she could get familiar

I am trying to figure out a way to get out from under this mobile home we own. We owe $33,600 on it. It has been for sale by owner for about a year. We've only had one interested person and she backed out. We have no room here and really need a bigger house. Should we try deed in lieu or short sale?? I am hiring a realtor to help us and I'm going to call my mortgage company. I don't want to foreclose because then we'll never get a house. We owe more than it's worth and we have to pay lot rent too.

I left money so I could be paying for the dress, I wenbt out of the country and a lot of months passed by, now that I went to check on the status of my investment, they told me it was lost cause I took too long (march was the last time I payed for it) and now the money I put in is theirs and my dress is theirs too!
Their reason is that they told me that if I didn`t pay I would loose it all, the money and the dress.
I have my ticket but is there anything I can do to recover one of those 2, money or dress?

We rent a high end apartment. We've lived here for almost 6 years. We have had a leaky roof since we moved in. the water leaks in when it rains through the electrical outlets and light switches, fireplace and the roof in general. we call maintenance everytime and they say they are going to give us a new roof, but instead they just patch it untill the next rain. Our carpet and walls are water stained. Our kids have major allergies. We cannot afford to move yet, but here's my question. Is it legal for us to refuse to pay rent in order to safe up a deposit for a new home, because of these issues? And if so who do we contact to do it legally?

I will have short term capital gains this year from stocks I've bought and sold. I have some stocks I've held long term and could sell for a loss. I have no long term capital gains for this year. I know that federal short term capital gains are taxed as income at about 28% and long term taxed at about 18%.

1) Will selling these long term stock at a loss help to lower the my federal taxation on my short term capital gains?

2) Will each dollar of long term losses reduce my federal short term gains to be taxed by dollar for dollar?

My new apartment complex keeps bugging me about paying deposit for the past week. My move in date is on october 1st, I have not even signed the lease, but they claim that since they have taken out an apartment from the market and reserved it for me the deposit should be paid in advance. Are they crazy or have I been misinformed all through my life?
