A friend referred me to a travel agency for a good deal on round trip to the caribean. I purchased a round trip for about $100 less that online cheapest offer. However, the suspicious thing is I paid with check because they didn't take credit cards. The agent cashed the check almost immediately because by the time I called my bank to cancel the check the money was out. Continental Airlines (website and over the phone) told me that the confirmation # I got from the travel agent was invalid. The travel agent seems to be long gone. She is not answering the phone.
She has my Driver license info. What can I do to protect myself from further damage?

Please, please help.

I work at a department store as a retail clerk and I recently put in for a promotion for a opening as a shift lead but I was passed over in favor of a woman who hasn't been there quite as long as I have. I think it was mostly because of how she looks. The store manager likes to flirt with her because of her chest, but I think she's as dumb as a brick! Plus, I already know the job and she doesn't! I know everything the shift leaders do and my manager knows that. I've been working there 3 years and I'm starting to think I will always be held back so should I quit ?

Ok so I've had a part time job for quite a while, almost 10 months..
Well, in the last week or two, I've been going through a lot, ending a relationship, being under a lot of pressure in school...
So last week I must have forgot the schedule, because at 10pm tonight I saw a missed call and I returned it and they said I was supposed to work at 630 and never showed up! I apologized profusely, and they said it was ok(although i think i still got written up) but I feel HORRIBLE. I've never not shown up, and I am not that type of person.

What do I say to explain to them that I really didn't mean it and is this a somewhat normal mistake? I mean, I'm not the only person to do this ever, right : / ?

Today at work a customer paid for his food with a credit card it was authrized the payment when through but he forgot to sign, my boss made me pay for it just beacause the customer didn't sign. Is there a reason for this or are they just being assholes they still got paid from the customer? Please help.

I have a CD containing 6 files.
1 file is setup.exe which works but the other 5 files are like setup.2, setup.3, setup.4, setup.5 and setup.6. I dont know how to make these 5 files work or open and without them the game wont be completely installed.

1. have an inspector check your house and provide a report to each prospective buyer
2.fill out a seller's disclosure form to the best of your knowledge and provide it to the prospective purchaser
3.ask a realtor to fill out a disclosure form, they are more experienced to handle the problem.
4. you dont have to worry about it, the buyer is responsible for finding any defects

I am in talks with a company that is agreeing to pay me much more than I thought I would make at this point in my life. It's a $17,000 increase in salary from where I am currently. The problem is that I have 3 weeks vacation at my current firm and the new company is only prepared to offer me 2 weeks. I have a 14 month old and need those 3 weeks for him. Any thoughts? We're still in negotiations, nothing is final yet, so I'm looking for some help here.

Never married, he only contributed $1,000 toward the downpayment but is not on the mortgage and lived in the house for only a year. Not yet ready to sell, but would like to make improvements to increase value for sale down the road, but don't want my ex to reap the financial benefits. I was just curious if it was possible to rent an apartment without having an actual job. I do work. I am currently working for the family business, but my problem is that I don't get paid with a paycheck. I am basically getting paid under the table. I have a credit card and can afford bills and rent and whatnot... And I was told that all I really needed was a credit card with good credit history. Is this true? Can anyone please give me some feedback? And please, only serious answers....
