I am running out of money and need it for my other expenses. The gym is directly taking money out of my account. So is there any way to get them to stop. I asked them and they rejected my request for cancelation. Suggestions please!!

This same thing happened to me. I had to quit going to the gym because the hours that I was working didn't allow time for me to go. Basically you are out of luck. If you look at the contract you signed, you don't even get out of it if you go to the military! And I suggest you make sure you let them know that you want out around the time your contract is up. Just because it says one year they still continue to take money out of your account until you sign the papers saying they are no longer aloud to. Imagine my surprise when I checked my account two months later to find they were still taking out the membership fee when my year was up!

The only time I have heard of a gym releasing you from your membership contract is if you are moving out of the area or if you have a doctors note saying you can not exercise. Otherwise they will not bend.
