you may check with your company. its either will be reflected on the next pay cycle. or a rule is clearly stated with your company. i know one company (hilton hotel) that you are not allowed to call in sick before and after a holiday or they will not pay you.

you can only have the precise answer to your questin through your org's human resources.

good luck!

I would say this depends on where you live. Where I live, ( in Canada) you are required to be paid for a Statutory holiday only if you have worked 15 days out of the previous 30. That's the provincial law. But I agree with the other people in that you probably won't see it until your next pay day; payroll is usually about a week or two behind; check your pay period.

HI! You'll find the answer if you check your company policy. Check with payroll and paid holiday codes. Good luck. It really should be paid. But, it depends on the company you work for. It's too bad that you were misled into thinking you would be paid, only to find out that you were not. Take care

Depends.

Is it company policy to pay it? Check your employee's handbook.

Also, labor day was THIS week. Most places (that pay holiday pay at least) withhold a weeks pay so you wouldn't be paid for this week until next Friday (or your next payday).

Only government employees are guaranteed holiday pay, the rest of us depend on corporate policy or union bargaining.

it all depends where you work and the policy. Technically i think any "secular" major holiday is considered a paid holiday. However, it is hard to say where you work what the policy is. Where I work, you have to have been employed (i believe it is ) 1 or 2 years in order to get paid for holidays which you dont work on the holiday . However, all employees who work the holiday get time and a half pay.
Also, i think it would come in next week's paycheck

If it was a normal working day for you, you should have been paid for it. Some companies have certain rules, such as you have to be with the company a certain amount of time before you get paid holidays, or you have to work the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after or you won't be paid for it. At one of my jobs, I don't usually work on that day of the week so I didn't get paid for it.

It is up to each employer to decide whether it is a paid holiday or not. While it is a holiday, there is nothing that mandates a company pay for it. Sorry, I did not get paid for it either.

Normally it is a paid holiday, unless Monday was your normal day off.

You will have to read your employee handbook or ask your human resource director for your company. Paid holidays are not mandatory unless they are stated in your benefit package.
