one day she asked if i was okay bc she said i seemed unhappy with the work. than today she asked if me whether i could do the work bc she said she wanted me to work faster. she asked if there was a problem and if so she can replace me that very day. it's not a problem. then she said "off the record why r u here, u have a college degree. I saying this like a big sister, I WANT TO SHAKE U. u should be doing this job. fix urself up, do ur hair and network. im a college grad, 1 yr out of college. haven't really worked with my major. my plan was to work temp and look for permanent at the same time. well i worked at this office for 2 and half weeks. the first week she wasn't there. when she came back, she didn't have anything for me to do and would ask her collegues to give me work to do. I took my time completing assignments because she had nothing for me to do. Anyway I want to quit and use the time to find myself a full time job and im outraged that she felt that she could get familiar

worked there for 3 weeks (24hrs a week). first week she had nothing prepared for me and had me move folders. she obsessed about these folders worried that i would mess up. i packed the folders with a list. she didn't give my work a glance and didn't care. when i come in she seems bothered when i ask for a task and pawns me off on her colleague. i'm assigned one or two task a day. pull invoices (15) or make copies. when i do spreadsheets from her records she makes a big fuss if i ask a simple question and re explains the whole assignment when all i asked is if the credit card statements are cash receipts or cash disbursements. she's a bossy snobby *****.!

you sound pretty depressed, which will not help you find a job. you are very defensive. i really think that poor woman was trying to help someone who shows she is unhappy and depressed. but it is a vicious circle you must break. then you can dazzle them looking at other places. stay dressed up and don't ever let anybody see you sweat or discouraged. get cracking girl!

Since it is only a temporary job, use it to gain experience while applying for the kind of job you want. Even if the bullying colleague ever says they can replace you, so what. Who has authorised such a subordinate to say that in the first place? The agency, and other agencies will have work which may be more suitable.

Shop around for different agencies too. And remember that agencies are not the only way to a job. Try jobcentres, newspapers, word of mouth, speculative letters.

Welcome to the world of temps

And crappy managers.

Forget all the crap they told you about the "real world" in college. You have to keep in mind that the people at colleges rarely have worked in the real world so they have no idea.

This is what is sounds like to me. The woman is a control freak and because she is unable to delegate responsibility is falling behind in her job. Her boss made her get a temp to get caught up. Her control freak ways won't let her give you anything important to do because she is afraid that you will do her job better than she does.

So, do this. Call your temp recruiter and tell them that this is not working out. Tell them that she is not delegating any real work and even is trying to talk you into quitting. Then say you will stay until they find a replacement and find you a new assignment.

And one last thing, 99% of "temp-to-perm" positions are NOT. Recruiters LIE as they get paid on billable hours, not for finding you a real job. That is why I refused to be a temp recruiter and only worked on permanent placements.

Only read about half a dozen lines, in simple terms this person is breaking the law and you can do her for harassment and intimidation from threatening you with your placement.

It doesn't matter what country you live in, employment law is pretty much the same all over.

get used to it. for the rest of your working life there will always be people that bug you one way or another..you must not let them get to you. always work hard and remain positive no matter what.
