I started seeing my endocrinologist since dec..i was recommened his name by my bro who is a doc and i called the doc and told him i have one insurance which he doesn't accept. He called back saying that he is making a special request and started seeing me and we both assumed diffent things and he now gives me a bill for 2500....which i am supposed to pay according to my insurance rule and docs rule. But i wasn't aware of it and they weren't aware either. My insurance pays like may be 250 out of this and i have to pay the rest which is too much for me to handle. If i knew i would have opted out long before. We come from a different country and this is our first insurance use and we r living on onepay roll and my husband supports me for my studies which r very expensive. That leaves us with very little money for us.What can be done?please advice.

I signed a 12 month lease on May 24th 2006. On August 2, 2006 I was at work and from the witnesses, they say the incident happen around 1am. I was working nightshift. I came home to my apartment with a hole in my kitchen. No one notified me or anything. I went to the landlord and they never offered me another apartment or offered to move me at their cost. I gave them a month and a half and they still never fixed the apartment, they just put a board up over it. My apartment was totally unsecured and anybody couldve came and stole my belongings, so i moved at my own expenses. Now my landlord is suing me for breaking my lease. Can he do that???

My property taxes, like everyone else’s in Miami have skyrocketed. Now we are facing a downturn in housing, along with the rest of the nation. If the prices of homes go down, do our taxes go down as well?

Will we ever get relief from our tax burdens or should we move away?

Hi, I got an offer to work 6 months for a staffing company names RANDSTAD.

Now the positive thing is that the billing company I will be work for has a good reputation and it is minimum commute. The down side is I've heard horrible experience with staffing company like they will treat you bad after you sign the contract, higher tax at the year end and the billing company will used temps like a work machine, or you will have difficulty being integrated with the permanent workers there.

This is not my only option and I can also chose to work at another company which is also nice, permanent, but 1h commute. I know people will find choice 2 much better, but I hate driving and I don't have difficulty to find another permanent job after the temp is over. However, if these stories about staffing, temp jobs are true, I will definitely drive 2hs everyday to get my bread. Thanks!

I don't want to work where I don't feel comfortable. What can I do, to b honest she only has a problem with me, and tries to change everything that I do. I feel low and stressed most of the time when she is around. Can you advise what I can do? Do you think I should leave work or stay the way I am?

I don't carry a big balance, just charge things like plane tickets, gasoline, etc. My credit is great but I like to have a 0% (on purchases) interest card so I can carry a balance withoug paying interest. Have always been able to get one before (offer came in the mail) but I don't see any now. The 0% interest should be for 18 months so i don't have to change cards too often. I don't need to transfer a balance at all. Airline miles or rewards would be nice, too. Suggestions?

we're beginning to hear of bills in state legislatures and so on aiming to crack down on the now infamous "sub-prime" mortgages. you'll hear the sponsor say things like "these people are selling mortgages they know the customer can't afford". My question is how can a lender profit from this?
They lay out a bunch of money they know can't be repaid?
foreclosure? that must be very cold comfort to them.
could it be that their agents are selling garbage loans for the commission? But wouldn't the actual lenders have some mechanism in place to prevent this? Could they possibly make such a dumb mistake?

I was driving through the entrance gate and the motion sensors on the gate were not working and both gates were closing in on my car. The exit gate closed into my car and damaged my front fender. I called the complex and the property management and they said that they only cover damage to the actual gate itself. Is that possible? Do I have any way of collecting damages from the complex?

Now that I think about it, I do not recall having three straight days of work to do. I do not think they need a full time body here, i think they can get away with a PT person....they are paying me GREAT money.

I am sure that half of YA'ers would think I should just sit - but its not in my blood or my character to do nothing. I think my skills are going to waste.

Has this ever happened to any of you? What did you do about it?

No stupid or negative answers - keep them to yourself.

Prior to moving to NYC, my husband had a three-month lease on a furnished apartment in Salt Lake City (for April, May, and June). He left on May 25th for New York and paid the rent for June. Sometime in June, his brother and sister came and cleaned out the apartment, getting rid of whatever he couldn't fit into his car to take to New York. Now we are receiving a bill from the apartment complex saying he owes for July, because he gave no written notice. Is this right? It was a three-month lease, and the apartment was completely empty by the end of June. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
