What happens if the company i own becomes delisted from the share market?

Do i get my money back and how does it work?

You don't get your money back. You may be able to sell your stock on the OTC market (aka "pink sheets"), but OTC stocks normally trade for less than $1 a share, so most of your money will be lost before the stock is delisted...
