What makes Starbucks the choice of a place to go for business purposes and for internet and technology?
Also, why do students go to Starbucks before or after class?
Why not a local donut shop or a pizza parlor?

Not that I have anything against them. I like their Frappucinos.

I finally got my money out of an old 401K account that I had from a company I have not worked for in several years. I took the check to my bank to open and IRA account and I am being told that every tax year I will have to pay taxes on the interest the money earns. I am confused, I thought the point of a retirement account was to have it tax deferred until the money was ditributed to you at retirement age!!! Can anyone help me understand? I have money I need to get into an account soon!!!

So here is the deal. Back in Feb. me and the wife put down 5k to hold the townhouse while the built it. We went through initial qualifying with only a couple minor issues. We fixed those and are due to close on the 15th of Aug. They are now saying that I'm not making enough money, which I am making the exact same amount as before and with less bills even. anyways, at what point can I get my 5k back? I was told initially that if we can't get financed, we can get it back. But if we choose to not follow through with the house, then we forfit the money. I know I can check the paperwork, but I am at work for the next 10hrs and can't check on it till then. Any help or suggestions are appreicated.

Me and my husband want a house so bad but we are in a finacial struggle right now and have dwindled our savings. We have a child so we are really working with one income. I only work partime. Any advice on how we should go about getting that down payment saved and owning a house? I have never owned before so I really don't know much about buying.

The non-profit is a youth football and cheerleader league. I bought uniforms and work out suits for my daughter and wife. But they are all the wrong size. In total over $80. And just about EVERY cheerleader uniform and workout suits are wrong in the whole league. For a total of over 70 girls. The league isnt saying who ordered the wrong sizes and says they have no more money. They have not come right out and said "to bad, you are stuck with what you got" but they have not even came up with a plan to proceed to fix this problem. The season starts mid August. And to top it off, they used an over seas vender. Yes, it is a big mess. Thanks in advance.

Years back in 1997 my father passed away and he talked for years about more then one policy that he had. Since we where young and he was older he had a woman who was power of attourney over them and they would sit in trust until we turned 21 years of age. Well she claimed they never existed. Later after speaking with a lawyer he told me she could have changed the name of the beneficiary since she had power of attourney over them and nothing would ever be said unless someone came foward to call foul. She would have to then prove that she changed the name in there best intrest IE someone who might be ill or something of that nature. But if no one came forward nothing would ever be said. She knew we did not know the name of the company he had this policy or policies so we could never call foul. Is there any way at all you can research or anyone you can contact to see if a policy was cashed in that belonged to him or something along those lines any help would be greatly apprciated. Texas

I can't use cheap toiletries because I have sensitive skin. I need Charmin tissue since I have hemmrhoids, Dove soap, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, sanitary napkins, dish detergent, tooth brush, food, household cleaning products & co-pay for my prescriptions. I'm afraid I won't be able to afford everything I need since this is my 1st electricity bill, & it's almost $200 to get the service on. I'm afraid to go without electricity because I'll get an eviction from my apartment. & I'm on a fixed income. I also need to do laundry.

I'm at one of those unfortunate moments where I ran out of everything at the same time.

I am in a three month contract with my real estate agent at four percent commission for his company and I want to fire him because I don't think he is doing enough to sell my house. He is always making me excuses that the market is slow but I know my house can sell because my house is beautiful. I've already had my house listed with this guy for over a month now and I haven't even gotten an offer on it. My agent keeps telling me that he has put it on the MLS and realtor.com and sent out flyers for my home and spoken with other agents about it but I don't think that is enough. He has only done six open houses for my house and it seems like he wants to do them only occassionally now and I want him to keep doing them because I don't feel he is doing enough to sell my home. What can I do to fire him? I am in a three month contract with him and I am two months away before it expires, but i want to fire him now. what can i do?

What I see is this...we used to have road crews employed by cities..perpetual road maintenance...just scheduling...then along comes privatization...road crews laid off...jobs have to be prioritized...staff for that...then tendered...more staff...companies prepare tenders...more staff....tenders reviewed...staff again...pass by the politician for approval..well a plus they have something to do...finally the job starts and a private corporation makes a profit on a job that was done by a public servant..oh and now we have planned obsolesce... you do the math..so much for our savings...and now we have roads and bridges and much more falling to pieces.

Trip has been planned since May, so nothing I can just reschedule. I'm interviewing for jobs, should I tell them at the interview, as I'm offered the position, or after I'm hired? I know its going to look really bad to ask off so quickly after hired.
