We have thought many times of buying a fax machine for the home but then thought, what is the point for the occasional time you would use it?
Most people have computers at home now also, just was wondering how good it would be to be able to go locally and fax and whatever?

What other things can you think of?

I moved out of my last apartment at the end of last month. I gave my former apartment manager my forwarding address on July 11. Its been over two weeks and she has not sent me anything regarding the status of my deposit. In my state, the statute states that if she doesn't send me written notice within two weeks something stating what amount, if any, of my deposit I will be getting back, she forfeits all rights to the full amount.
I"m planning on sending her a letter stating that the two week period has passed without receiving anything in the mail, and now I"m going to take the position that I"m legally entitled to the full amount of the deposit.
Is the letter the proper first step? What would be my next step?

We live in wisconsin and we rent a townhouse with multiple units. Well I complained about repair pracices and sent a letter certified mail regarding the issues and then 2 months later with our lease coming due they sent us a new lease offering only month to month. When I called they said since I was unhappy they figured I would be happier this way. Also I should note when I initially called about issues regarding repairs and complained the management said "well it's a good thing your lease is coming due isn't it." I do plan to move but I just had a baby and will atleast stay through the next 6-9 months. They have only given ud 15 days to decide to terminate our lease or go month to month. What can we do?

The IRS just sent me a refund for EIC for 2006. Since I was not employed but receiving survivor benefits for myself and children, I did not think I could claim the EIC. I have not claimed it since 1998 and have supported four children. Can I go back and claim the EIC for 1999-2005? If so, how do I begin this process? Thanks.

I have read a lot of books on frugality, but I'm always interested to know what other people have come up with to make their money stretch.
Please share your thrifty thoughts! Thanks!

I'm 30 years old and has always lived at home. I'll be moving out sometime next year. However, I got a question...would some lenders give me a higher interest rate because i've never had a rent or a mortgage before?

Would it be more beneficial to rent for a year then buy? Would it make a difference?

FYI, I have a fico score of 776.

I am 15...which is the legal working age were I live. But am trying to find a part time job for back to school, and am limiting my options to places like McDonald's just because I know they hire at my age...but I was thinking of applying at places that I have never seen people my age working...because I know I am more talented then the drug addicts working at McDonald's...so can a employer turn me down even though I'm the legal working age?

There is this guy at my new job that really creeps me out. Im 16 and he has to be over 35. I dont know a thing about him and dont care to,but the other day he went by my check stand and gave me this extremely scary stare. i tried not to make eye contact with him,but i kinda looked at the corner of my eye when he was a little further away and he was still staring me down. I went to my lunch and he was walking my way..i thought of turning around and going back but thought it would look obvious so i just walked past him and he said hi and just stared me down until i was out of sight. This has happened a couple of times but after he went by my check stand i just got the chills. Has anyone had this happen to them, and what did you do?

Isn't this true that if we close our borders, then we will put a ban on people who want to travel freely. These free thinkers who do not follow the citizenship of any particular country are as important to us as any other fed officer who is draped into rules and regulations.
