Mr. A is the MD of X firm a medium sized house hold furniture manufacturing firm. He has been managing this co since 1982. and the co is doing reasonable well. lately he noticed that workers are not working to their full potential. they fill their day with unnecessary activities and work for the sake of wages.
the situation has become quite alarming as the organisation began to crumble under the weight of uneconomical effort.so mr. A summoned HR manager and enquired and asked him to find out what workers really want?
HR manager made a detailed investigation and concludeed that workers who work are unnoticed and unrewarde.even unproductive workers enjoy same benifits As a result more and more workers are joining bandwagon of non-performers.

It's a long story, but in short I traveled outside of US and I didn't want to carry cash with me so I wrote a cashier check to myself. When I arrived I realized that canceling the check was a better choice.

I contacted my younger brother in US, whose name is on my account too, and I told him to cancel the check, they asked me to send the original check so I sent it with Fedex Priority mail.

Now get this; Fedex LOST THE PACKAGE! and it's been two weeks and they say nothing can be done, I only have to wait to see if they find it that's all. (it wasn't insured because it's a document)

Now the bank says that if I have the check number I can cancel the check but I'll have to wait 90 days until I get my money back into my account!

Is there any way to cancel the check without waiting 90 days?!

Is there any better approach to solve this problem? unfortunately I'm not in US and I don't expect to be back for at least a year :(

any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm not quite ready to do my newsletter on Yahoo! yet--not till I get some things squared away. I've been using Freewebs for several years now.

But because of the increase in costs of maintaining the site, I'm going to have to do a data dump and then start over.

I don't mind paying a little to get a little, but at this point, I don't have the extra $138 to fork out per year for two sites.

Any suggestions or ideas?

I have had two job offers. As always happens, both offers have come at the same time. i would be selling cars at retail sites, for two of the top marques.
I like to earn good money and drive a fine car, but also need steady career progress with a company that cares about its employees. How do I choose between the two?

I was on a courese a few years ago and the tutor told me that the post office has no right to refuse to accept payment for road tax even if you dont have your insurance or mot.
this is because the post office acts as an agent to hm the queen and any agent that refuses to accept a tax levy will allow that person to use the vehicle on the road without the tax
is this true?

I am a 39 yo student at a community college, taking pre requisites for the ADN (nursing) program. I have good grades, inspite of excess absences. I was docked 20 points for each late test, (3), and now the instructor says that she's going to drop me a letter grade too. Is this legal? I am paying for my education, have been an LPN for 8 years, am a single mother and currently work as an LPN.

Last night, at around 11:10p.m., I went to a CVS pharmacy and asked the pharmacist to assist me in getting a medicine for a series of prescriptions. My insurance expired on July 31st and we only had about an hour to get the medicine on the insurance. To my surprise, the pharmacist had a 'chip on her shoulder' and was terribly awful! To make a long story short, she ended up insulting my nephew (who was with me at the time, 12-year old) and myself. We ended up exchanging insults and she refused to assist me while sh was assisgint other customers. Is there anything I can do to legally have CVS pay for this medicine? The pharmacist purposedly kept us there for almost 30-40 minutes. I spoke to the manager but he said there was nothing he could do but to complain to the main CVS hotline. I had explained the pharmacist the insurance situation and she still refused to serve us. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Dan,(a CPA and a staff accountant)for B&L's(local CPA firm). It's been the policy of the firm to provide a holiday bonus equal to 2weeks salary to all employees. The firm's new management team announced on Nov.25 that a bonus equal to only 1week salary would be made available to employees this year. Dan thought that this policy was unfair because he and his coworkers planned on the full 2week. The 2week bonus had been given for 10straight years, so it seemed as though the firm had breached an implied commitment. Thus, Dan decided that he would make up the lost bonus week by working an extra 6hours of overtime per week over the next 5weeks until the end of the year. B&L's policy is to pay overtime @ 150% of straight time. Dan's supervisor was suprised to see overtime being reported, since there is generally little additional or unusual client service demands at the end of the calender year.

Discuss whether the firm is acting in an ethical manner by changing the bonus.
