I have a friend/hero who enjoyed hell so much, she's taking a second trip! cafepress dot com fwd slash helpshellyan

Anyhow, I'm doing the great friend thing and I've reserved a nice big boat, with fabulous food and entertainment, we've got items autographed from all over the sports world to auction off and we're setting sail in late October for the night of her LIFE!

I even have a guy at the newspaper to write an article to help us sell these tix. The print vendor is in line and EVERYBODY is donating their efforts!

Then it hit me,.will the feds haunt us in April? Can the already taxed out of pocket donations be subject to additional tax for a dinner auction fundraiser?

I read briefly about Non-Profit Orgs and whatnot but this seems like a ridiculous expectation if I'm doing this as a one night help a friend gesture.

But, I'd never forgive myself if we raised 40k that night and every penny got spent on her meds and the feds came knocking on her door for 10k in April?

I am considering the purchase of a lot in a new subdivision outside of Savannah, GA....I am concerned about the condition of the soil, drainage, the sewage situation (it will require septic), and whether or not the lot lies in a flood plane...should all of the answers to these questions be provided by the developer or must I pay for all of these surveys/info on my own? Thanks!!

I despise disloyalty. So if I have an employee who for fun makes fun of his or her boss, is it bad for me to fire that person?

What other traits do you despise?

I am writing a program that tells you which stocks to buy. It uses formulas like PE ratio to tell you how good the stock is. I need more formulas to add to my program.

Please give me some formulas and numbers that would be ideal to see.

No telemarketing, or retail or restaurant. I work hard at my job, and will be studying harder with my apprenticeship schooling. Between rent, tools, and other expenses, I need a part time, short term "moonlight" job to catch up.

I'm looking for the best plan as in:

- Not getting my face ripped off in closing cost
- Not increasing my current interest rate of 5.8 to something over 8%
- Not having to pay thousands in points

It seems I'm having the same dilemna as when I bought my house and rates were supposedly "low" 4 years ago. I know I can't win, but I simply can't afford my current mortgage payment of $1500+ a month on a house I mortgage $185K for.

We are in the process of closing on our first house and don't want to mess this up. My husband is being forced to file bankruptcy soon on ONLY medical bills. I don't know if the bankruptcy should be filed just after closing to prevent a lawsuit from one of the creditors or if we should just go to court and settle the bankruptcy after a judgment has been passed. If we filed chapter 13 bankruptcy, what kind of percentage of the total bills do you usually have to pay on medical bills; or does it depend on your income and expenses? Help please! Also, will our credit cards (which we do NOT have a problem with) be taken away from us?

I recently had a service preformed on a vehicle that I was quoted 130.00 for the service (labor charge for 1 1/2 hours). I called the next day (around 11:30) to see if service was completed and vehicle was ready. I was advised the Parts I provided (new still in box from auto store) were defective and I would have to pay an additional fee of 130.00 to have this replaced. I was also advised I would have to pay a 45.00 test fee to assure that it was deffinatly the part that was the problem. Since I had to have my vehicle I felt i was at there mercy and no choice but to let them proceed with the repair. I called the auto parts store and they quickly took a new part to replace the alleged defective part to the mechanic and i was lead to believe by the end of the day it would be complete. I called ( around 3:30) and was advised they were working on it yet at 5:30 I was advised they could not fix it till the next day. is this leagal or Are they just greedy

I need to find an accounting program to track expenses, etc. but also would like to find an all-inclusive program that has a bill-pay feature (like online bill pay that banks offer). Is there anything like this on the market?

I am currently working in a hotel reception. I am getting the best salary I've been able to find after i finished my University. The thing is...It was a good job to start with but now find it too hard to be away from home all week. I have to travel two hours by bus to get to work so I stay at the beach where the hotel is. It's a dead boring place to live...No people live here..Just a few other employteees that I have nothing in common with. Should I quit before finding another job..Or should I wait a liuttle longer till' another chance comes out.????
