so my mother and I recently moved out to a new house(about sept. of last year.) in a more rural setting, and are regretting it.There is nothing wrong with the actual house(its brand new practically, built in 2006),neigbors,etc. it is just so far away from EVERYTHING! my mother works far away and with gas prices theses days it really is an expensive commute. We jokingly say that we should sell the house. Most days she even says she hates it here!I know deep down though she and I arent joking! It just seems like such a far fetched or non realistic idea to sell so quickly, but its really not?I know it isnt really a sellers market right now and that we would probably have a hard time selling especially since there are a ton of new homes being built in our area, but I still think that we should give it a shot, but unfortunatly my mother has a less optimistic, non go getter attitude. I would really like to know peoples opinions.thanks!

I work at a daycare center, and the director just came into the room today to say that it is mandetory for all staff to stay late tomorrow. They didn't give us any prior notice that this was mandetory. Is there any pennsylvania state laws that state that you have to be given a certain amout of times notice of things like this???? If so what is it???? Also can a job hire you for one thing and without notice move you to another position???

I've always dreamed of moving to Canada (currently in the US as a permanent resident). I would really like to take up a full-time job in Canada, in the field of Software. But I talked to a few friends who have worked in Canada (under non-immigrant visa) & they tell me that the salary is not as good as what one could make in the US (which I can understand), but also they say that the actual salary earned is only 30% of what the company pays at best, and the remaining 70% goes off as taxes! Which is worse than that in the US.

Is that true? Do you really earn very little and pay lot of taxes, if you work in Canada as a non-immigrant?

She is going to use the money to pay for her medical care. After the money is gone then medicare will kick in and pay her medical bills. I am concerned that the governement will go back and see how much she sold the house for and tell her that it wasn't enough. Any ideas?

I sell in ebay and made a total of $27,064.99 I did not make any sales in my state (California) Only out of state sales. So I don't owe any Taxes. Okay my question is that
Out of those $27K that I made in sales do I have to take away of what I had to pay for the item?
Example I sold a ring for $3,000 but it costed me $1,000 do I only claim $2,000?
Do I claim what I paid for shipping that I had to pay for sending the item to my customer?
What do they mean by deductions? Thanks

I know that having a higher % of card ballance, even paid in time can harm your credit. On the other hand, high credit limit itself can do the same. So, let's say you owe 6000$ and your credit limit is $10 000 (so you owe 60% of your credit limit), In this case what would be better, to INCREASE or to DECREASE your credit limit. (In the first option the % will obviously decrease)

Can anyone be a dog walker? I want to do it as experience, (I want to be a vet) I'm fairly experienced with animals and am 16 yrs old. Do I need any kind of licesing? What kind of pay could I expect, and how would I advertise. What kind of rules should I have about e.g. un-neutered dogs, unvaccinated dogs, dangerous dogs, on or off lead walks, etc. Can anyone please give me some information (I'm not looking for a full-time job, just a bit of experience in the proffession.)

I just found out the owner on the house I am trying to purchase still owes for 2006 taxes. He said he took out a loan to pay the taxes but that sounds like he will have a lien on the property. I am hesitant on trying to close on the house as I think that the debt will somehow fall on me. How do I make sure that I am not responsible for these taxes? Is there a way. This is in Texas.

been told by an agency to go for another interview despite my protest that its less money as he says I will have more opportuntities there to learn etc and may get bigger bonuses. not sure to trust him or not and I really cannot afford £10k less especially as i will be paying more for travel and probably work longer hours :( but there are opportunities there to learn more but then again with learning more it means more pressure and not much personal time.Thing is i know if i don't go for it the agency will drop me and if i'm successful and they won't budge on the money and I decline the job the agency will drop me too and in the finance market you can't afford to get a bad name wiht agencies

I have taken an enormous business loss for a business I had filed as a corporation. How do I show these losses in my tax returns? I need to know what the best way to handle this is. When can I post the losses? Only after the loss is realized (when the business is sold)? How much of the losses can I show in a single year? I am praying that there is some way to show this on my personal taxes, as this is a total loss of a small fortune. Thanks for any and all advice!!
