I work at a daycare center, and the director just came into the room today to say that it is mandetory for all staff to stay late tomorrow. They didn't give us any prior notice that this was mandetory. Is there any pennsylvania state laws that state that you have to be given a certain amout of times notice of things like this???? If so what is it???? Also can a job hire you for one thing and without notice move you to another position???

I told the management that I have to be at my second job and they said that they might be able to get me out. How does that play out? I work two jobs!!!

If you are a non-union worker and not subject to some other contractual arrangement, your employer can require you to stay late. The caveat is that the employer has to pay you for all of the hours you work. No notice is required.

In some states, if the employer unilaterally changes your job description, you can resign and receive unemployment compensation from the state for a limited time.

If you do not want to stay late, and if you are unable to negotiate not staying with your employer, you can be terminated. The logic is clear. If you are able to quit at any time with no notice, the employer has the right to fire you at any time with no notice (so long as the employer does not violate federal discrimination laws.)

Presumably the employer is asking you to stay for a reason. If you are not able to accept your employer's reasons and actions, unfortunately you may need to find another job.

Staying late is a bummer, but sometimes it is necessary.

Nope, no law against their changing your hours, and no particular amount of notice required by law. And yes, they can change you to a new position - your option is to quit if you aren't willing to go along with their rules.
