okay, so i've been a renter out in the country for a while now, and also childless... well, my husband & i made an offer on a house that's in the city and found out we were going to have a baby in the same week! eep!!

i'm making a budget (particularly for the 12 week leave i will need to take when the baby comes) but i'm not sure what to include... here's what i got so far.

~electricity (not sure how much it will be?? do rates vary a lot within a similar region?)
~cell phone (no land line)
~water & sewer (absolutely NO CLUE! never had to pay before)
~mortgage (PITI, TBD)
~credit card bills ($200/month)
~car insurance (<$75/month)
~OB payments (next 7 months $170/month; hospital bills following)
~doctor copays (?$50/month? 2 visits for a while)
~prescriptions ($40/month)
~diapers ($???)
~groceries ($200)
~gas ($100? it will go down from what it is now, our commute will be about 1/3 of what it is currently)
~garbage ($20/month?)

anything else you can think of? thnx

everyone that I talk to asks for a deposit upfront, there is no doubt that that is a scam.. Lenders don't charge money up front.. has anyone ever received any money from one of these lenders, or are they all scams? looking for one that doesn't have any up front fees or requesting money from me..

I ordered a free credit report and there was an error. I disputed it and received a response that it was fixed, but could not see an updated report on their web site or a corrected score. Their web site says that they will send a report unless filed online. The report I see is still the old report and the score is also not updated so did I waste $8 on a bad score? I called and they want more money to tell me what the correct score should be and want me to pay for another report with the correction as well. Does anyone know how to get a good score and report from them after a dispute online?

Helen obtained a policy of insurance insuring her life and naming her niece Julie as beneficiary. Helen died, and about a year later the policy was found in her house. When Julie claimed the insurance money, the insurer refused to pay on the ground that the policy required that notice of death be given to it promptly following the death. Julie claimed that she was not bound by the time limitation because she had never agreed to it, since she was not a party to the insurance contract. Is Julie entitled to recover?
