In life, when you have goals that you want to achieve is it better achieving them ( and therefore setting new goals) or do you enjoy the journey - sometimes the pleasure of going somewhere is greater than the enjoyment to be had after arrival - what do you think?

I would like to ask a question to all people who have their own place, plenty of money, a car (especially the car, LOL!) & most of all, freedom.

I'm 23-years-old & I always feel like I'm struggling to make ends meet. Although I have two, wonderful jobs that both offers excellent wages & hours, it just doesn't feel like it's enough. Without sounding too pitiful, a few of my MOST DESIRED goals in the whole world is to finally escape from my family & find a place of my own to stay, preferably in a new town where I can begin a new life for myself. I also desire lots of money, new friends, a car & freedom. But, it all costs a lot of money & unfortunately I am still teaching myself about financial matters as my parents stupidly never taught me about the responsibilities of money as a child. Now I'm paying for their mistake.

Have you ever felt like you were trapped & helpless & then one day, you finally succeeded in breaking free? If so, what did you do, because I need help.

I'm a little interesting in saving for retirement and I heard somewhere that young workers should get a Roth IRA. What is it? How much could it cost me to save up for retirement. (I'm in my mid-20's and live in Cali if that helps!)

We have apt rentals,in which we have 6 month leases. If after the 6 months are up, and our rules are, that the tenant has to give a 30 day notice of vacating, or they forfeit their deposit. Now the tenant is on a month to month, he would still have to give the 30 day notice in order to get his deposit back, right ? Just as we would have to give him 30 day notice to vacate. Please give me answers on this. My tenant thinks he can move out on the 6th, he just told me about moving, and he thinks he should get his full deposit back.

I am currently reviewing my credit reports for accuracy. There was a collection account that was paid off in 2006. I did not and still do not recall what this collection account was for. I filed a dispute with the experian credit bureau. Experian said that the account was valid. The collection says midland. After i disputed this account with experian midland marked the account as being derogatory in april of 2007 and said the account was ok as of may 2007. This is hurting my credit report because it looks like the collection account is current. Also i sent a letter to midland requesting all the pertinent information for this account. Midland has failed to comply with my request. How much time should i give them to respond. I have a letter from midland stating that the account was paid off in 2006 so there is no way that it can be derogatory in april 2007 and then good in may 2007 I only paid the collection because i confused it with a different account Can i file a lawsuit against them

My mom wants to sign her house over to my husband & I. We are already living in the house and have been paying the mortgage payments, the house is just in her name. I have read about a "quitclaim deed" is that something that we can do or will we actually need to go through the process of buying the house to get it in our names. I live in Phila PA if that makes a difference.

I have been living in an apartment for 4 years now. I don't have any immediate plans to move out (atleast not 2+ years)

The carpet installed is the commercial kind you see in office buildings, and my kitty thought the hold rug was a scratching post. I have pull marks in certain areas of the carpet in my living room. the bedrooms are find as well as the hall way. My stair was it worste.

I lade down area rugs and this fixed the problem for me visually. I am responsible pet owner and am able to repair for the replacement of the carpets when I move out, but I am wondering if they will charge me the replacement cost or the depreciated cost. I don't think it is right that I am buying brand new carpet for the landlord when I move out as a 5-6 year old carpet would have some normal wear from use.
