Went around with real estate agent, but was only able to see outside of the unit homes. Was told that since its occupied I can't see how the inside looks like, and am able to see it during the inspection. I understand the privacy and all, but if I am thinking of spending life savings shouldn't I be allowed to see the inside? thanks

I have a co-worker that seems to have a family emerency every week. Could he be telling the truth or just don't want to work. Did this at his old job also.

My mother works as a farmhand for some guy. The guy only employs her and one other guy. Recently in Illinois, minimum wage went up. However my mother has not received the raise in pay and now makes below minimum wage.

Can anything be done? My mother needs this job but it doesn't seem legal for her boss to pay her under minimum wage.

Also, her boss is quite the jerk. So that is why she is terrified to say anything to him because he would take it out on her and make her do extra chores!

So my soon-to-be landlord and I made a verbal agreement Friday the 20th that I would accept the apartment he was renting and move in on the 10th of Aug. He calls me back Monday and says he'll need a $250 deposit to hold the apartment for me (so he can stop showing the apt. and in addition to the $500 deposit needed on the move in date). I obliged and made the payment. Now, due to unforseen circumstances I am unable to accept the apartment. My question is-- do I have the right to ask for the $250 back?

My arguement is this:
1) The last tenant moved out last night so technically the apartment won't be available to rent until next week (he's installing new carpet and painting). This is sufficient time to find a new tenant or call a prospect that has already applied.
2) The $250 pre-deposit was never discussed prior to the date he called
3) I haven't signed any papers yet so I'm legally not obligated to go with the apartment.

Thoughts, suggestions, legal advice??

I put my house on the market in 02/07, I had a less than ambitious agent. When the listing expired i looked for another agent who was "hungry" to make a sale. I interviewed and found one who seemed appropriate. Now I feel this agent is condenscending, and wanting me to "under price" my home for a quick sale. He has shown me listings for my area, sold homes and homes for sale, but it still seems to me that he wants me to underprice it. I'm not comfortable with this I cannot find my home online for sale, he says it is no fliers in the box,(for sale sign is up) and no ad in the newspaper. When I called him on this he said he would get right on it then I got an email saying BEFORE he prints fliers and puts the ad in the paper, he STRONGLY suggests that I lower my asking price as " I am not in control of determining my selling price but the market is in control". Which i get But if I go to low, then I will only be able to move from one ghetto to the next, jus bigger hse Change agent/wait?

1) How much do you pay for health insurance per year (if provided by employer you are still technically paying since it is part of your compensation)?
2) What type of coverage is it (full coverage, catastrophic, individual, family, HMO, PPO)?
3) Is that more or less than what you paid in 2006 federal income tax?
4) The June 2007 US labor force was estimated at 153+ million workers, if each worker paid what you pay for health insurance to create a non-profit consumer co-op funding the exact insurance program you receive, would our national health care be better or worse off?

*My employer pays my health insurance ~$10K/yr for full coverage family plan PPO, slightly more than my federal income tax, slightly less than all payroll and income taxes put together. This would amount to over $15.3 Trillion to cover the 153+ Million workers and their families.

I'm only going to make about 15grand this year, He'll make about 39grand. Is it okay for him to claim my daughter and I on his income tax return next year? What about on his w-4 right now? Would he be able to get the earned income credit?
My other thought was, what if he claimed me and I claimed my daughter? Would that be good or not as good as if he claims us both?

i was just in a store and i overheard a store manager talking to an employee about another employee. she said something along the lines of, if she doesnt show up today she's going to fire her and put her on the bad list so she couldn't get a job at other stores. i was almost tempted to ask what she meant by that, but of course then i'd be admitting i was listening in on her private conversation (which she had on the not so private sales floor). anyhow, what? i've never heard of such a thing.

I am trying to see how many of the present day's dollars it would take to equal one of 1875's. I don't want a simple answer; ie. $134.00 . I want the actual web site where I can look it up.

I'm not interest in any other information.

My neighbor assaulted me in front of my home in front of 5 police officers. She plead no contest & is on 6-months probation. Our homes are attached villas. My family & I moved out because we were in fear. Now we are trying to sell our home. This neighbor walks up to potential buyers & tells them lies about our home & tells them they'd be making a mistake buying our home. We've lost 2 sales that we know of.
They also sit on their driveway, which is 1-ft. away from our driveway, chain-smoking & glaring at realtors & potential buyers with nasty looks on their faces. We've been told by several realtors that they no longer want to show our home. This housing market is difficult enough without this problem. We are still paying our mortgage, as well as a rent on an apartment because we are afraid to live there. We are in financial trouble. Everything in our home is new. We've already lowered the asking price $50,000 & have offered to pay the buyer closing costs. What can we do?

Hello to all! We are in the process of selling a house we own downstate and this is the first house we are selling for a profit. Does anyone know how long it takes before you get the payment from the profit made on your house once it sells? I'm not sure how long it takes after the closing to get the money. Will it come in check-form? Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a number of late payments on my report. One for a macy's credit card and another for my bank of america. How do I ge them off! They were late because I was just out of college and did not have a job. I have since paid them down and have been making regular on-time payments but they are literally killing. I have a total of 15 late payments. 10 for Macy's and the other 5 for bank of america.

I was thinking I would send a goodwill letter for the late payments that occur in 2005 and 2006 (July 2005, June 2006, September 2006 & Oct 2006)

Any advice?? I cannot wait 7 years for them to fall off. I now have a great job and want to buy a condo but my credit score is 545 and is kicking my butt! Thanks for your help. If you recommend writing a goodwill letter, please please please provide a sample one and what I should say.

Also, should I just lie about my situation and say I got into some horrible crash or family issue?

Thanks again!
