HELP!

When I originally interviewed for my current job, I didn't mark myself as exempt on my W-4 form. I later found out I was indeed tax exempt, and refiled through my job; however, upon recieving my paycheck today, I find that my check has indeed been gutted by federal income taxes. I complain to payroll, only for them to tell me "We will fix it for next week, but there is nothing we can do about this week's check." With that said,

1) Is there really nothing payroll can do? Is the idea that they already sent the money to the government and so they truly cant adjust the income tax out of my check, or do I just have a lazy bum for a payroll chief?

2) If indeed I can't work it out with my job, how do I get the lost income tax money back in the fastest possible way?

Here is the website;

I'm guessing that the earnings are a LOT less than the amount they claim.
Does anyone else think "scam" when they see this page?

I'm a mother of 3 and my family is considered to be in the "very low income/poverty" category. I want to own my own home so what money I DO have paying to housing will be going toward something. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get help with a home loan or building my own home? WE do not have good credit and are in debt, also. HELP ME!!

I've made a flyer to advertise my babysitting services:

Need some time off?
Responsible 13 year-old girl looking to babysit in local * area.
-Dependable and mature
-Loves kids
-Have had three years of experience with younger children (ages 1-11 years)
-Educated and certified in first aid/CPR
-Will do basic housework on request
-Flexible hours and affordable rates
$3/hour for first child
$2/hour for second child
$1/child/hour after that

and then I have those little slips that you can tear off that say Jennifer, babysitter [phone number]
I have a little notepad ready for all necessary and emergency contact information for when I babysit, and am creating a "babysitter's kit" with basic first aid, some storybooks, a simple board game, crayons/coloring books, and other little toys.
Am I good to go? Is there anything I should do to prepare for a job? Is my pricing reasonable?
Thanks for your input!

Well i was called around in late June this year by some person claiming to be an employe from a company called American Choice Readers Service and proceeded to tell me that i'm being rewarded for having good credit in a country that is in bad debt and they wanted to reward me for being so. In the reward program they promised me a $1000 online shopping spree, and a magazine subscription that they would pay for, and i just had to pay for shipping and handling, i would pay $58.74 a month for the next 16 months. It all sounded good to me, and being gullible, i accepted, i gave them my checking account number and all the info they needed. following weeks i would get a oder confirmation letter and everything. then one night i was talking to one of my friends about it and told me its all one big scam. to speed things up, today i called them and told them i wanted to cancel my account, though they told me that wasnt possible because i failed to do so in 30 days of sign up. What can i do! Who?

I'm really new at this. I'm in the process of obtaining a patent for an invention. I'd rather not say what the invention is. Anywho, once I get it, how do I work this thing? If I want to sell the idea, who in retail circuits do I contact? If I wanted to sell to K-Mart of Target or whomever, what is the title of the person I should seek?

Back then, when you had a credit card and paid on time, credit card company would be nice to you and wanted your business. Now, it doesn't matter how long you've been with them, if you're not profitable, I mean if you don't use the card often and carry the balance from month to month, credit card companies treat you like dirt.
Everyone has credit card nowaday. Back then it was a priviledge to have a card. Now they hand them out like candies and as soon as you don't make money for them, they will drop you like a hot potato. You can have a great credit score but that doesn't mean you have a good interest rate. I've seen people who have way over 700 score still get a 14% because they never carried the balance.

I had surgery back in 2005. I didn't have insurance, so I applied for COBRA. When I asked when the policy would be active, the person taking my information told me she would backdate it to the beginning of THAT day. So, I went to my dr that day and he told me that I needed an ultrasound. The next day, after the ultrasound, I was told I needed to have surgery. A week later, I had the surgery. A month after the surgery, the insurance I got through COBRA sent me a letter telling me that my actual start date on the policy was the day AFTER I called, so they considered my problem to be a pre-existing condition and wouldn't cover the surgery. Also, I wasn't aware that I was still covered under my parents ins. When I found out, I sent them the claim, but they wouldn't pay due to timely filing. All the dr's bills are now in collections. Is there any way to appeal after this length of time? If there is, how would I go about doing this?
