How do you rollover a pension into an IRA? The employer has an annuity option or a lump sum. How can one take the lump sum and roll it over into an IRA without paying taxes? The employer is saying that because it is also considered "profit sharing" that taking the lump sum with cause taxes to be withheld. The employee is 69 years old if that makes any difference.

Do you contact any organizations or is it better to just ride it out? I've heard that if you contact the collection agencies after a certain amount of time that it "resets" the clock in terms of how long they can harass you for. I'd prefer personal experiences rather than negative insults or judgements. I know I screwed up and I'm trying to fix it, thank you.

I have a entertainment booking business. I have recently began requiring that customers pay a deposit because business is really growing and we are losing too much money
on clients who cancel at the last minute keeping us from scheduling someone else. The other issue is that the entertainer gets over to the neighborhood and then gets lost and when he/she tries to call the host/hostess they don't answer the phone to give directions and thus the entertainer gives up...

Just as a "survey"...

How many of you think its justified to require a deposit and for me to KEEP the deposit if the client backs out at the last minute? (keeping in mind if its a legitimate emergency I can credit the deposit for a future re-scheduled party).

This one is the tricky one: What about if we should keep the deposit if we drive all the way to the clients area, get lost, and the host/hostess won't answer the telephone to help us find the place and we lose the booking?

Your opinion please! Thanks!

Is there any way to get out of an apartment lease because I bought a house. Plus I have a baby on the way and the apartment is too small for my husband, myself, and the baby.

I heard as long as I give the landlord a certified letter with the closing date of the house and a 2 month notice that I can break the lease and only lose my security deposit, is this true??

Who can legally garnish your wages? I asks this because I have been getting calls from a company called Oxford Management Services and they said that if I didn't pay my Dell computer loan IN FULL and fast that they would get lawyers involved, they would garnish my wages along with me paying the attorney fees and put a lien on my house. Can they do this?

I have already maxed my 401k and IRA this year, I heard I should invest in a no load fund, how do I do that?
do I just buy one online or do I go to a person, vanguard has a Target Retirement 2040 Fund, should I invest in that or is there something I can invest in after I maxed out my 401k and IRA, I have about $3,000 extra to invest long term, my income is 35,000 and my husband is 35,000, we do not make that much, but I want to save as much as possible, what should I do with this money........ I already have enough savings for 8 months worth of bills, I need to start now before I spend the money on things I do not need, I would like to buy something that does not have much fees or any hidden things attached (new to this kind of stuff)

The deadline to turn it in is Friday. I just found out about the job yesterday and have been scrambling to update my resume and write a pertinent "letter of interest".
Will it look bad if I turn in my resume tomorrow? It's supposed to be either mailed or emailed, but I'm afraid the mail won't get there in time. The job has been posted in the paper since july 24th, but I only occasionally peruse the employment section. Will it look terrible if it arrives on the day before the deadline?

I'm considering turning it in personally, and not even mailing it. Should I do this? The ad specifies either email or mail, but I think emailing a resume is unprofessional. Please advise!!!!

Are these things a gimmick....or not. I have a summer job, but heading into college a year from now it'd be nice to have some extra money set aside for a laptop. I never know what school stuff I'll have to spend unexpected money on. Also, the money seems pretty straightforward, or is it all a waste of time? I also don't have paypal, and I'm not 18 yet. Should I try out the whole survey thing?

I have been trying a long time to come up with a good name for my business of general creative media unsuccesfully. Now i came lastly with this one,
PAROIMIA which means in greek Para=besides Oimia=thinking, saying. >That for me is translated as different way of communication, being different than usual.
But how does the word sounds? i have tried using
PAROIMEDIA too, seems too long for me.
What's your oppinion with the sound and overall aspect of this name for a general media making.

Found a great house for $430,000. We have paid 5k earnest (cashed out), appraisal done, inspection done. We are in escrow. Only thing need to be signed is final sales contract. Seller has gotten cold feet, and thinks the home is worth more and does not want to sign. Do we have any recourse? We are in California.

i am a single mother and have been been on welfare/disability. Because i have a set income of 800 dollars a month I have gotten into over 20,000 dollars of debt on my credit cards just paying bills over the last 10 years. Now im maxed out and i cant pay the min anymore. I am unable to work due to my disability, so I am stuck with a set income which barely covers rent and utilities. Should I declare bankruptsy? im afraid if i call and debt helper, I still wont be able to pay the min. I got to a point where I was paying my min by taking cash out on my card. what should i do? dont tell me to cut up the card, its already been maxed and I cant use it. What will happen to me when the payments stop? Should I declare bankruptsy? can I?

Also do you think we can afford a house which is half a million dollars...or more even?

thank you!
