I have an interview next week and have others lined up. The job I choose depends directly on the salary. That, and the atmosphere. thanks everyone

They may be planning to ask you what salary you want so do a little research and have a figure ready in case that happens.
If they don't ask you they will probably tell you during the interview, otherwise bring it up at the end when they ask you if you have any questions.
If it lower than expected don't look disappointed, just jot it down. An interview is still great experience even if you decide not to take the job.

do NOT bring it up when the interviewer asks if you have any questions. you should never ask about salary during the interview--that is a sure fire way to make sure you don't get the job. Do some research and find out the starting, mid-range, and high end salary for the type of job you are applying for. ONLY when you actually offered the job should you discuss salary.

The answer is never! If they ask you how much you want, tell them you are open to salary and ask what the range is. If they give you a range (ie. $18-$20 an hour), no answer from you is required. If they ask you again, tell them you made $22 an hour in your last position and would hope to start at $20 an hour in a new position, based on your years of experience. If you get a job offer at $18 an hour, ask them to write in a range up to the first year of service, so you are earning $20 an hour a year from now. If they can't do it, and you are desperate, you can take the offer until a better paying job comes along. If you have multiple offers, then you can decline it. Good luck!

The best time to bring up salary is after you have a firm job offer, or when the interviewer asks you if you have any questions regarding the position.

Never discuss salary in an interview. Once you get the job offer, then it is time to negotiate salary.

NEVER. Let the interviewer indicate the salary range of the job. Then be sure to let them know how much experience you have at that job and it will get you the higher end of the range.
