On page 474 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is "Wrested" a word, or is it a typo? It's near the top, where it says "He leapt over an armchair and wrested the three wands from Draco's grip..." Thanks!

I enjoyed the final Harry Potter book immensely, but one thing has been bothering me. How did Harry become the master of the Elder Wand? I know Malfoy took the wand from Dumbledore, making Malfoy master. And then Harry disarmed Malfoy - but it wasn't the Elder Wand he took from Malfoy, that was in Dumbledore's tomb. Ollivander confirmed that the wand Harry took was Malfoy's own. So how did harry become the master of the Elder wand when he took a different wand from Malfoy? Or am I missing something?

I don't want to offend anyone, but it seems like everytime I go onto this site, there's nothing but Harry Potter questions. Now, no offense to Harry Potter fanatics, but is there any way you guys can check maybe other questions or check old questions to see if your question has already been asked? That way some other book lovers who may or may not like Harry Potter can have a chance to answer questions not relating? Rather than spending such a long time sifting through all the Potter questions?? Thanks

I would have liked to know what happened with their last year at Hogwarts, would they have had to do it over again and what did our main characters do for the summer! Since we wont get to read about it in the next book. I had more but cant remember right now. I was a very good ending though.

ok, wasn't there 8 Horcruxes then? because Voldemort supposedly split his soul into 7 right? ok then look at this...
1- the diary
2- the ring
3- the locket
4- the teacut
5- the crown thing
6- Harry
7- Nagini
8- Voldemort himself
You can even look it up in the 6th book... dumbledore specificly says that voldemort is the SEVENTH horcrux and the his soul is split in SEVEN!!! so huh???
also... is the baby in the end of the book supposed to be harry as a baby??

Let's say, all other details the same, except Harry's name is Tito Rodriguez... and his accent is Puerto Rican, and he says words like "Wepa" (Way-Pah), and "vaya, vaya, vaya". for his magic.... would you still be a fan? What if he were Harry Jackson... and black... everything else the same.. would you be a fan?

Two things I didn't really get:
1. Who, when Harry is dead and is talking to Dumbledore, who/what is the crying baby that they can't do anything to help?
2. How did Neville end up with the sword if the Goblin stole it?

Thanks.

Lily Potter's protective charm broke once Harry turned 17 correct. So therefore why, why does Voldemort having Harry's blood in his veins keep the protective charm alive. Why is this?

I am currently a junior in college as an English major. Throughout my whole life, english teachers have harped me to publish my writings as they think I have the potential to succeed. Everyone else I know thinks after college I should make a career out of creative writing. Should I? I just think it's very risky and I might end up flat on my face. I've published things in newspapers and won writing contests, but is this enough?? I recently read an article which said that a man basically copied a novel by a notable Victorian author and sent it to publishers, only to be denied numerous times! That shows just how demanding publishers are.. Should I take the plunge, or settle for a career as a professor or working for a publishing company?? Thanks in advance!

BESIDES HARRY POTTER!!!!

I'm talking about things like chick lit and memoirs, etc. Things that top the charts and inspire a lot of copycats. What are some genres you'd like to see more of?

...but are tired of the book dominating the entire category. Admit it: it gets tedious after a while.

Okay, okay. Settle down all you indignant die-hard Harry Potter fans. There's no need to flame me...I've heard your arguments before: "Anything that gets kids to read..." "You're jealous...." "Let's see YOU try to..." blah, blah, blah.

I have nothing against Harry Potter, really I don't, in fact I was part of the countdown to midnight celebration (Borders). The problem I have with this (and any fad) is that it's just that: it's a FAD and seems to eclipse every other discussion in the section.

Of course, that it IS a FAD is the only consolation I have....the interest will eventually fade. It's great that kids are reading, but what happens when they're done with HP? Do they return to the TV or do they pick up another book? Hate to say it but I'd bet the former over the later.

I know I am angering some, but I'd love to hear some intelligent responses, not emotional venting

I have to rationally ask anyone out there is they SERIOUSLY believe that The DaVinci Code is real.
Yes, its true they talk about people that really existed, Jesus, Mary, etc.
If someone would take the time and turn the book in its spine, they will see it clearly says "Fiction".

So I guess my question is this, do you believe The DaVinci Code is non-fiction, and do you have evidence of this?
