I'm 16 and I love to read. I've recently gotten interested in classic literature from the Victorian Era, such as Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, although I've only actually read Alice in Wonderland. I want to find a good novel from the 19th century, so what is your opinion on Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? What are some other good fiction novels from the 19th century?

I love Harry Potter and i like that the readers are able to follow him as he grows up and through his adventures. I was wondering if there were any other GOOD books that were similar to the point that there are multiple novels with the same characters and like Harry Potter. Thank you

Am going on a company retreat to Caribbean (yeah - great company!) for 5 days/4 nights, and want to take a book to read.

I like the John Rain seriesby Barry Eisler, and Bourne series by Ludlum - and have read them all.
I am not really a Tom Clancy fan, so if you suggest him - suggest the BEST.

So? What do you suggest?

I want to get a book for someone (he's 9 yrs old). In the past he's enjoyed the Inkheart trilogy (Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke). He likes "magical" stories. Please tell me what you think would be a good book.+do you think the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling would be good?

Ok my thoughts on this is that i didnt like it. It seemed like it was a Child's Fairy Tale book and not a Best Selling Novel. It was also kinda trown in there. It also didn't really sound like the HP series kinda like it just didnt match the rest of the books. Don't get me wrong I love the Hp books but I didnt like this part. I felt like JK could of just left it out. But this is just my oponion.

1. What are your thoughts on this?
2. Do you think this is kinoff harsh?

I have this passion for writting, anything at all, sometimes I even narate in my mind relating to what I am going through, and I come up with all kinds of ideas for a plot and characters! I simply love it when I read the entire thing again and I correct it, or find different lines to replace the ones that don't fit! Is there someone out there willing to read this kind of work in order to find new authors for publishing? I am well aware I have much work to do until I get there, but for now, I want to know if it's any good, if I have any talent, if I draw attention to keep a reader focused and wishing to know more! Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out if Harry Potter the series is in the fiction or fantasy genre because I wanna do a report on it. But the book has to be fiction.

I see all kinds of people complaining on here about people posting spoilers to the new HP book. But isn't this a discussion forum? And to discuss any book, you are typically going to need details...

So shouldn't those that haven't read a book yet, just stay away from the discussion forums until they have finished the book, instead of expecting everyone else to not discuss it?

I personally, stayed off the internet and kept the news off from the day of HP 7's release until I finished reading it, just to be safe from spoilers.

When you're finished reading the final book, will you go back and read the entire series again?
HP is an amazing series, I'm betting that if you go back and reread them you'll find new details in the story that you missed the first time through. It'll be like discovering the series all over again. Plus, you can finish one book and pick up the next immediately. No waiting!!!
