I love Harry Potter and i like that the readers are able to follow him as he grows up and through his adventures. I was wondering if there were any other GOOD books that were similar to the point that there are multiple novels with the same characters and like Harry Potter. Thank you

Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini

The Amulet of Samarkand (The Bartimaeus Trilogy) by Jonathan Stroud

Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer

Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage

The chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

A Series of Unfortunate Events series by Lemony Snicket

The Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore

Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich

...or start on The Hobbit and then the ultimate Lord of The Rings series (if you are an advanced reader)..

Also, the The Dark Tower series by Stephen King is great although slightly outside or ANY genre.

The chronicles of Narnia are a very good set of seven books that follow the adventures of 4 people who save a world from evil (by C.S. Lewis)

a series of unfortunate events is a good series about 3 orphans who keep trying to escape an evil count olaf while figuring out the truth of their parents murder (by Lemony Snicket)

The stephanie plum novels are also very funny and follow stephanies everyday like as a bounty hunter ( by Janet Evanovich)

hope this helped

Duncton Wood is a wonderful series of books (Author is William Horwood). There are 6 books in the series and they are all hefty books...600+ pages. Its the story of 2 moles and their love for each other and the struggles of Moledom to survive cataclysmic changes.

It really is beautifully written and encompasses all sorts of moral issues that you would not expect a novel about moles to cover. A riveting read...I have read the whole series twice and will read it again (probably a few more times before I die lol)

OK they are totally opposit from Harry Potter, but Janet Evonovitch has some books about a bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum. There are 13 of them. They are mindless crap, but rather entertaining.
my husband has some books he reads but I can't remember the author. He's working & not answering his phone. They are fantasy & there are 5 or 6 of them.. LOVES them. Sorry I can't think of the author ... george something in the name. Can't recall if it's the first or last name.
It's George RR Martin (i think)
BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Good Luck!

if you want something like that and you like fantasy books then definitely go for R.A salvatores the legend of drizzt series it starts when he's like 5 or somin and ends up way l8er he a dark elf trying to escape the ways of his kind so he leaves his home in menzoberran and tries to make a name for himself on the suface wourld where the evil dark elves are shunned and met with only swords and axes great series of books and it's absolutely HUGE!!!

way way way bigger than the HP sereis i think like 20-30 books all with same charcters like 300-500 pages ea

Again thats the Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore

If you enjoy religious literature, the Left Behind series is good. I am in ABSOLUTE agreement with those who mentioned Evanovich's female bounty hunting heroine. Perhaps one of my favorite recurring characters is Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta who always manages to keep her cool no matter what she experiences.
