When you're finished reading the final book, will you go back and read the entire series again?
HP is an amazing series, I'm betting that if you go back and reread them you'll find new details in the story that you missed the first time through. It'll be like discovering the series all over again. Plus, you can finish one book and pick up the next immediately. No waiting!!!

That's all true. But after I finished the 7th book (bleary eyed at 6 AM), I closed it and thought, "Wow. that's truly it. No more Harry Potter."
I tried to read the first book again afterwards, but I couldn't do it. I read the first few pages of the first book, but I just couldn't get sucked in. I just thought again, "Wow. I can't do it. It's over."
It was horrible. I feel like I betrayed the books, but I read all 6 books the week leading up to the 7th, so I think I have them memorized, pretty much.
Still, I'm sad that no longer will I get to grumble about the long wait at 12 at night just to get a book I feel so deeply about. It really was a wonderful series, but now that I know how it ends, I don't think I can do it.

I usually reread the entire series prior to reading the released book, but for many reasons I did not do so this time... I simply watched the 5th movie (I hate the movies) and then reread the 6th book... (which I had refused to reread previously b/c of what happens).

While reading I wished, multiple times, that I had reread the series. Now that I'm finished and my roommate is reading it I plan on starting from the beginning and reading them all slowly.

I re-read the other books while waiting for the final; but I'll certainly have to go back and have another loook at The Half Blood Prince.
I love the way the books knit together, eg, Snape's memory of the converation with Harry's mother and Aunt - in an earlier book, when Dudley was attacked by dementors, Harry's Aunt knew what they were, because of that conversation.
Which makes me think - why weren't they all carrying chocolate bars around, if there were dementors on the loose?

Prbably. Not right now though. It wouldn't be as great. Everything is too fresh. I just read them all in preparation for this one so it won't e happening any time soon. However, I love harry potter, I am a huge fan and i love re-reading the books and finding out some nice little clues i haven't seen before.
I did re-read already the king's cross chapter. I wanted to know what dumbledore saw on the mirror of erised, however i didn't get it, again. I think it has something to do with the halloes, but then it seems to be related to his family. Did you get that? Harry did, but i certainly didn't.

I think i will never stop reading harry potter. it is kind of part of who I am now. I grew up with him. I felt as if i were there. I can close my eyes and be in hogwarts and then in the forbidden forest. it's just part of my soul and my heart.

No I don't think I will ever read another Harry Potter book again, it was a great series and I feel like I grew up with Harry, I'm 17 just like him and I started reading when I was 11. The books will indeed get dusty on my bookshelf, but sooner or later my children will wipe the dust away and read these books that will forever remind me of my childhood.

Yes. I'm actually going to read 5 & 6 again, b/c I've only read each of those once before, while all of the others 3 times. So, those are the only two I don't really remember the details.

But, I'll read them all again. And when my daughter is a little older, I'll read them to her.

Seeing the movie # 5 & rereading #6 a few days before the release of #7 made everything tie in really nice.

ive already read all of the books several times, and the seventh one i am re-reading now. its great because i can really find what i miss, and really understand the confusing parts clearly. im sad it's all over. reading it again slower, especially the 7th, will just make more since since most people probably rushed through the 7th to find out what happens.

Yea I'm reading it all over again and doing a comparison to the movies. I notice different things but I know there has to be more. I'll read them again to my kids when they're ready for bed time stories.
