I see all kinds of people complaining on here about people posting spoilers to the new HP book. But isn't this a discussion forum? And to discuss any book, you are typically going to need details...

So shouldn't those that haven't read a book yet, just stay away from the discussion forums until they have finished the book, instead of expecting everyone else to not discuss it?

I personally, stayed off the internet and kept the news off from the day of HP 7's release until I finished reading it, just to be safe from spoilers.

I agree! If they're unintellegent enough to go on a website that will CLEARLY have spoilers, but they don't WANT spoilers, it's no one's fault but their own. I, myself, am tolerant enough to put *spoiler warning* on any questions I write having to do with HP 7, but, really, these people are just not using common sense.

i can see why ppl get upset over the spoilers that are posted without warning first if they dont' want to know. personally i don't mind them and can read the spoilers then read the book and still enjoy it. i just finished the deathly hallows and thought it was good but i enjoyed some of the earlier books more. too i can't understand why some christians are upset over the book there are a lot of underlying christian themes in it kind of like the lord of the rings books.

Every supposed "spoiler" was wrong....from the newspaper that said only 6 familiar characters died to those who said that both Harry and Hagrid died.

The only "spoiler" I'll share with people is that Harry drinks much too much alcohol in this book (totally not necessary to a story line in a purported "children's book) and the first half of the book is terribly written. It takes 300 pages to turn back into a familiar HP book.

Here here!!

I find it very funny that those who's posts contain spoilers make it very clear that there is a spoiler included and you should not read it you don't want to know, and yet people still insist on reading and then complain that there is a spoiler.

If you don't want to know, don't read and do searching for the spoilers! It's really that simple.

True. I agree 100%. I hate to spoil the book for people, but if they want it spoiled for themselves, they can ask questions, and I'm going to answer. Non-readers shouldn't click the question anyway if they hadn't read the book. They should also finish the book before discussing it. Also, HP bashers should stop dissing HP lovers, cuz we don't insult what they read.

Good point, tho ^_^

You're right! I purposely stayed away as well. Now I know the end, and want to discuss it, so this is where I come.

HOWEVER, I think it would be nice, so that people can still use their internet, that people don't actually put the details in the question header. That way, one would actually have to click the question to see details.

Same here. I didn't get on till I was done. And everybody is getting mad about spoilers. If they really cared, they should be reading the book instead of being on here, where they know there will be spoilers.

Some people just can not resist the intenet anymore, it takes to long to read a book and why spend the time to broden your mind when you can log on and find out all you want to know from people who have taken the time. People are just lazy that is all there is to it. They also want to ruin it for every other person they can think of. It is just bad manors.
