The FBI can listen to your conversations even if you’re not on the phone and your mobile is turned off. How? There are little GPS locater devices in all modern cell phones. You can supposedly disable them, but you really can’t.
So, your phone’s turned off and you’re talking to somebody about precious freedoms or whatever and the Feds need to hear this for your prosecution before a military tribunal in Syria, so they use the GPS locater thing to activate the microphone.

True, or just some Fear Propaganda put out on Fox News to keep cranky conservatives in line?

For some background, i am 14 years old and i live in the philippines. I wrote a 117,000 word fantasy novel with a friend (who is currently editing). I want to have a list of agents that will most likely represent my work and also myself.

If you're read Eragon (don't like the author much), i think you would have an idea of the plot structure, but our book, Legion of Fire, is very different in the characters, setting etc. It is some kind of cross between a sci-fi and a fantasy novel. We plan to beat Paolini in terms of age. Really need help . . . fast.

Is my favorite book series and undeniably one of my biggest passions on this Earth..

I loved the 7th book and whilst I'm sad it's all over, I have something on my mind.

I keep seeing this **** on the news about all these religious groups protesting Harry Potter and calling it devil work and **** like that, because it's so dark.

I am 100% atheist, I could care a **** less about religion or any of that stuff but I have to say- THAT BOOK WAS PRETTY DAMN DARK.

I would be reading parts of it and think about all the protesting and what not, and think it was justified.

If I was an emotionally or morally unstable person I could see myself very easily being overwhelmed with the books darker points and evil undertones, but, as it is, I just found it lovely.

We go from soul-splitting, to serial murder, to talking to dead friends and family, to actually bringing the dead back to the living plane of existence, to becoming "the master of death..."

Thoughts? Protests-Justifiable?

This is probably the stupidest question on here, but whatever...

Every book report/assignment I've EVER had to do, I've lied my way through...but this next school year, looking at the reading requirements, I don't think I'll be able to pull it off this year. I absolutely hate reading, and I can never find a book that will keep my interest for more than twenty minutes or so. If I want to pass English this year...I'm going to have to get into reading.

SO...all you bookworms out there...
How do you just "get lost in a book"?
What makes reading enjoyable/How is it enjoyable?
How do you get anything out of what you read? (When I read...I'm not sure why, but I'm not able to retain ANYTHING from the book, and I always find myself lost...part of the reason I hate reading)

PLEASE help me! Thanks!

Basically I love reading but I love reading Anorexic type books. Two of my friends have eating disorders they are really great friends so lay off. I have already read The luckiest girl in the world and you remind me of you. I would like to read more any suggestions? But no suicidal books or cutting. It could be a side topic. But the main focous is anorexia.

For me it's a tie between Stephenie Meyer and James Patterson. Yes, J.K. Rowling is good but she's not the best out there. I also enjoy the Pendragon series by D.J. McHale.

First I was skipping sentences, then whole pages. At this point, I'm debating whether or not to skip to the last two chapters or not finish the book at all.

I just finished it now and I must say, it was wonderful. My favorite part of the whole book was the epilogue. It was very sweet. Who all died, though? My mom keeps asking me "Who's died so far?" (she doesn't read the books. She just mooches off of me for information. xDD) and I want a list of all who died. Thank youuu.

I found that Fred Weasley's death was one of the most unfair and totally unessisary(sp?). He and George are best mates and you can't imagen one without the other. I really want to also hear your opinions on how George copes with his loss.

I'm thinking it was because Snape was SO significant to the story of Harry Potter. The sixth book was named entirely after him!

What do you think?
