I found that Fred Weasley's death was one of the most unfair and totally unessisary(sp?). He and George are best mates and you can't imagen one without the other. I really want to also hear your opinions on how George copes with his loss.

I know, JK really screwed up there, it was NOT needed and was total unfair to all the readers and the characters!

George now doesn't have an ear or his twin/best bud! I almost stopped reading the book there but I had to finish it....

Fred was a loyal character would didn't do anything wrong but through in jokes. His last joke was halfway through when you died and i salute you for that! RIP Fred Weasley!

why fred weasley, someone had to die, and if it was one of the trio people would have been burning JK Rowling dolls in effigy.

I think George would be understandably crushed, and like any person he would have gone through mourning. Then I think that he would have kept going with the joke shop so that the death munchers and mouldy wart wouldn't have gotten the best of them. I do think that at Fred's funeral he would play a huge prank on everyone in Fred's name, and Mrs. Weasley would have gotten really angry and screamed at him.

I am actually surprised that jk didn't kill off both twins since they were meant to be the new Fabian and Gideon Prewitt, whom they were named after since they were Molly's favorite brothers.

I have no idea of how George will cope... I keep having these horrible thoughts about how Rowling didn't include him in the epilogue because he's gone too. I mean its horrible, and she was vague as it was, so there's no real evidence to support it, but I keep seeing everyone months after the book ends all happy and getting on with life, but George can't because he lost something so big. He gets more and more depressed until he finally just loses his powers and will to live, just like Merope when she lost Tom. Now, wouldn't it be ironic, if George, in his despair spawned Voldemort's second coming... haha, its not really funny and I really think way too into it, but the point is, I feel really, really bad for George and the position he's in.... and for my unacceptable use of run-on sentences.

Yea thats terrible, cuz Fred and George are the most awesumful out of all the Weasleys. And George will have to run the joke shop by his self.

It's one thing to lose a brother but quite another to lose a twin. I feel terrible for the entire Weasley family but most especially George.

i totally agree. it felt as though somebody punched me reeeeallly hard in the stomach after i read it. percy's reaction didnt make me feel much better. as for george, i think he was upset, mourning the loss of his twin for a while, but cheered up because he knew fred wouldnt like it. he continued with the joke shop. he knew what fred would've wanted him to do so he did so willingly. thats what i think was the outcome. but im still pretty upset about his death.

nice name, by the way :D
i dont come across people with the same name as me often, so i get excited over it.

I actually think Percy was more crushed than George because he had spent so much time away and he probably felt guilty for missing his brother grow up. I agree that it was necessary because think of how mad we all would have been if one of the three main characters would have died (although I guess we were all kind of prepared for the loss of Harry). I am also saddest about Dobby, he was so kind and gentle, it was a shame he died.

I was so shocked that that Fred died! After George lost his ear I thought that nothing else would happen to the twins. It was so sad. Besides Snape's death it was the worst, I think!

Well, I did hear that a couple of well-liked characters were going to die off and this is the "Battle for Hogwarts" anyway.

I think it would make George, Ginny, Percy, Bill, and Ron all the more determined to kill Voldemort.
