NB: Mr Postman:
Pllease forward this question to Ms JK Rowling - I'm sure she will be able to answer it . . .
And while you're at it, please send similar ones to Messrs. JR Tolkien pertaining to the location of Middle Earth, especially the whereabouts of Hobbitsville, Underhil, Rivendell, etc.
Oohh, and don't forget to ask Ms Anne McCaffery the GPS co-ordinates for PERN - I, personally would love to visit that one!!!
What? Did you call me a dolt!? Why??!!! Oh: They're ALL figments of overzealous imaginations! Double damnation!!! Oh, well, I've tried my best, SORRY!!!

The Express goes north from King's Cross, which isn't very helpful since almost everything is north of London, but it takes hours and hours to get there.
Sirius escapes from Azkaban (somewhere in the North Sea) by swimming, and needs to travel north once he gets to the mainland.
So all indications are that it is very far north, probably into Scotland. But I don't think there are any more specific indications.

I read from K-Zone magazine that it's in Scotland. The "great hall" and " gryffindor common room" were filmed in a former rolls-royce manufacturing plant, its in Scotland also, I think. The "hogwarts" castle is, of course, CGI.

Per the book, it is suppose to be in Northern England near the Scottish border. The castle used in the movie is in Scotland.
