Two things I didn't really get:
1. Who, when Harry is dead and is talking to Dumbledore, who/what is the crying baby that they can't do anything to help?
2. How did Neville end up with the sword if the Goblin stole it?

Thanks.

1. The "baby" is Voldemort's soul. The part that was in Harry.

2. A true Gryffindor can always pull the sword from the Sorting Hat.

The crying baby signifies the remaining part of Voldermorts soul. Because he has ripped his soul apart too many times, to make Horcruxes, the baby is only representing the final 7th part of his soul that was inside Harry and which had to be destroyed before Harry could defeat him. It is beyond help as the other 6 parts of the soul, needed to make Voldy whole again, had already moved on. The 7th part was present with Harry and Dumbledore in 'limbo' the waiting room between heaven and hell. And were it is decided whether you are allowed to stay alive, to resolve unfinished business. Harry and Voldy were both allowed to return for that final battle, between good and evil......you know the outcome of that.

Neville managed to get the sword from the hat, because, as Dumbledore has said a few times, Only a true griffindor can pull the sword from the hat. Goblins only FORGED the sword, Griffindor CHARMED it, the Sorting Hat originally belonged to Griffindor also. I'm surprised that Voldy didn't try to use that as a Horcrux?

1- the crying baby is Voldemort once he no longer has the protection of Lily Potter's protective charm. once he has destroyed the horcrux that is in Harry, he will no longer be a whole person.

2- Neville has the sword because the sword of Griffindor will appear to true Griffindors who need it, as it appeared to Harry when he took it out of the Sorting Hat in one of the earlier books

1. Voldemort's fragment of a soul--the horcrux attached to Harry. They can't help it because it has to go beyond into death, while Harry goes back into life.

2. A true Gryffindor can pull the sword out of the hat, like Harry did in the Chamber. It probably doesn't matter who has it or where it is kept.

1. no idea
2. How did Harry pull it out in the Chamber? When someone needs it, it appears in the Sorting Hat. She, meaning J.K thinks a person who has read all the HP books would know and understand this.

No one will ever know. I guess J.K. left us those mysteries so we keep wondering.
