All my friends and family really hate the idea of me leaving our town, but it's something I've always wanted to do, live in New York City. I will be graduating from uni in a year and half with a degree in information technology (starting salary is about 40,000-45,000 and up). I hope to work and live at home for a year to save up money and then I hope to move and live there for 2 years. If my salary goes up to 50,000, do you think I will be able to afford a one bedroom for about 1600-1800 a month in a nice neighborhood with a view? It's my dream to live there and it's something I really want. Are my friends and family right though? Is it too crazy of an idea?
What are good neighborhoods and what are some neighborhoods to avoid? Going to school has taught me how to manage money quite well but yea, am I being realistic? Or do I need to seriously wake up?

Any suggestions are great! Staying in Manhattan. Only there for one weekend in mid-September. Not really into shopping. But zoo's or museums may be fun. This is my first trip to NYC, so I want it to be memorable!! Only the best experiences that you can appreciate in a short amount of time, please. Thanks for your comments!

I don't mean to be a car snob, but I've had stuff happen to it before, and some areas of NY are definitely safer/better than others, so I figured I might ask here.

I will be there later this month for 5 days and am wanting to get everyones opinion on what I must see. I am not a fan of the parks (i.e. Seaworld) and things like that. I love the beach and the environment around it. I will have a rental car so distance is not an option. What are some of the beachs or "breathtaking" sights I have to see while in San Diego?

I'm planning a trip to Vegas for my 30th b-day from Oct. 16-20, and am having no luck finding a decent deal. I've signed all the online guestbooks, so I get the current rates when they are available. I'm looking at discounted rates for August, September, November, and December, but nothing for October. Is it too early for them? Any help would be appreciated. I was looking to stay on the strip, possibly Bally's, Harrah's, MGM, Luxor, or Excalibur. Thanks in advance.

If you do and want to get rid of such items I would appreciate an email on AngelikaBertrand@msn.com
subject: Gardening items

Please only answer if you are seriously and really have items to give away. I will find a way to have it picked up from you. Either with little charge or some money or just for free. I am a disabeled veteran that enjoys gardening to relief stress. Thanks. Very much appreciated.

Still looking for somewhere to relocate to where its not too hot. Im not too familiar with California but I researched a little and it seems like a nice place to live. My only problem is that I am hispanic and some people scare me when they say that not all cities welcome us. Can someone give me some info on Eureka. Is the weather really that nice? How are the schools? Are there enough jobs out there? Anything else I should know?

I'm going to Vegas this month with my girlfriend she's 20, turning 21 this december, and I know Vegas is very strict with the 21 and over age limit. What are the chances of me bribing the bouncer to get into a nightclub with her? Like slipping him a $20, 50, or 100?
