Is it safe to park a nice car at coney island to go watch the fireworks on friday nights?

I don't mean to be a car snob, but I've had stuff happen to it before, and some areas of NY are definitely safer/better than others, so I figured I might ask here.

Go there when there's a Cyclone minor league baseball game and park your car with everyone else.
