I've only been to three islands, but I'd pick Kauai. It really is lush and uncrowded, thus giving a more authentic Hawaiian feel to it. Besides, the Na Pali Coast is one of the most memorable sights in the world.

Everyone goes to oahu. Although if you want to see volcano, do some fishing go to the big island.
