I'm planning a trip to Vegas for my 30th b-day from Oct. 16-20, and am having no luck finding a decent deal. I've signed all the online guestbooks, so I get the current rates when they are available. I'm looking at discounted rates for August, September, November, and December, but nothing for October. Is it too early for them? Any help would be appreciated. I was looking to stay on the strip, possibly Bally's, Harrah's, MGM, Luxor, or Excalibur. Thanks in advance.

Head over to http://www.resideo.com/us/nevada/lasvegas/ and click the "Check Availability" button. Choose your dates, submit the form, then sort the results by price -- that'll put the cheapest places first.

You can then read about each hotel, view pics & book online.

Good luck, have fun...and Happy Birthday!

I've been a cabdriver in Las Vegas and Oct, Nov and Jan are busy months because of the snowbirds coming down to "warm up"; WHERE AS* Dec is the Month everyone stays home to celebrate a White Christmas. With so many people COMing in2 Vegas "AT THE SAME TIME" local Business's ARE'nt GOING to run any SPECIAL because they DOn't HAVE 2 !

It's JUST LIKE OIL; It's simply a SITuation of Supply AND DEMAND (IT) ! ! !

i know the mgm is having a huge supercross event around the 12th or 14th of october. there could also possibly be some other events going on. i haven't been to vegas since february, but try looking on different hotels websites to see if there are any other major events happening around that time. that could explain why there are no deals. try booking something through costco's travel department at www.costco.com. sometimes they have really reasonable vegas packages.

If you go to this web page listed below you will see sixteen pages of conventions for the month of October in Las Vegas. October seems to be the convention time in Las Vegas. If you need to save money try the Orleans, Stratosphere, Trebles, or Fremont Street.

Hotel discounts are usually base on times that they don't have as many bookings so they are trying to fill rooms. I can only conclude that in Vegas in October they don't have a problem filling rooms.

This was the best deal I could find at a nice strip hotel for your dates.

Stratosphere $73.25(avg rate)
http://www.stratospherehotel.com

I found that rate at
http://www.travelworm.com

I could not get the room reservations system to cooperate on the Stratosphere web site >They will match the travelworm rate if their rate is not lower already.
