most locals avoid the strip as much as possible and go to casinos off the strip to satisfy any urges to gamble.

Let's see. We go to the strip for speical events, shows, dining and shopping but we also avoid it mostly because traffic is bad and we LOVE our local casinos. Our favorites are Red Rock Casino and Green Valley. The Palms is a close thrid because it is close to the strip. We stay inside as much as possible in the summer!!

Ive lived in Las Vegas for 9 years....I usually hang out in my own community...you can go dine out, go to movies, gamble, golfing, hiking... there are alot of things to do....
I wasnt to much of a gambler, usally would go gambling if getting company in town for the weekend etc...
