Any suggestions are great! Staying in Manhattan. Only there for one weekend in mid-September. Not really into shopping. But zoo's or museums may be fun. This is my first trip to NYC, so I want it to be memorable!! Only the best experiences that you can appreciate in a short amount of time, please. Thanks for your comments!

Deffo Central Park! There is also the Central Zoo Park so you could do that in a day!
The top of central park is near many museums such as the Guggenheim which is fab.
I could also recommend the Rockefeller center it is $17.00 dollars i think. And definitely worth it! Especially at night! The lights are amazing!
You could maybe do a bus tour "hop on-hop off" the ticket is valid for 2 days and you just get on or off so you can go from..Central Park to Times Square etc..it is good, but traffic is a nightmare so it can take its toll. But it is good. Also the night tour on the bus is good. As you go over the bridge into Brooklyn & see the sun set over The Skyline!

Why not take a helicopter tour of New York City? Most people and New Yorker's have never taken a trip up there.
Check out the South Street Seaport on a beautiful NYC day. You can go to the South Ferry area and see the Statue of Liberty and part of the downtown skyline of lower Manhattan.

Use Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village as your stating point. Head south to Bleecker Street then north to Eigth Street, then east to St. Marks Place, the west to Jane Street. You will see shops, hear music, and see the most fascinating out of the ordinary typical things.
