We moved here because it was our favorite vacation spot, and we still love gambling and eating out (which is what we spent most of our vacation time doing). We like the locals casinos (the Red Rock, the Suncoast, and the Orleans) and hardly ever go to the Strip anymore (too crowded). Interestingly, I've met lots of people who grew up here who never gamble. I guess to them, Vegas is just where they happen to live, while we chose to come here for what the city had to offer.

Work, go to school, shop at the local malls and avoid the strip as much as possible unless the girls are in town and then it's party time!
Aside from paying too much for a good time it's a normal town.

Let's see. We go to the strip for special events, shows, dining and shopping but we also avoid it mostly because traffic is bad and we LOVE our local casinos. Our favorites are Red Rock Casino and Green Valley. The Palms is a close third because it is close to the strip. I also like the Silverton too. We stay inside as much as possible in the summer!!

stay indoors all summer long, its too hot outside...but at night theres always shows and cheap dining, in the wee morn hours you can golf (wonderful courses in the vegas and mesquite areas), or at night you can play an executive course at the callaway center... always crazy people watching on the strip, year round...best on weekend nights...then theres always clubbing and gambling when they dont turn the lights off...which is never...
